Marco Rubio's dry mouth moment

(CNN) - Sen. Marco Rubio stopped for a drink during the GOP response to the State of the Union - and the moment immediately went viral.

Even Rubio himself acknowledged the awkward break in his speech on Twitter.

Others on Twitter ribbed the Florida senator for stopping his speech to reach for the water bottle.

He is simply not prepared for the moment. I do not think he can get the job done.

OMG! He stopped for a drink! How could he possibly do that! Obviously he is not presidential material, unlike our current "leader" who walks on the very water that Rubio drinks! Stop the presses! OMG!!!!!!!!!

How absurd that CNN should make a headline out of this. Rubio's opponents of course will abuse any perceived anomaly in his speech to criticize him, and it is particularly ridiculous that they didn't find any thing of more substance in his speech to make fun of than him drinking water. CNN in its unashamed Obama activism tries to exploit the "issue"

This is the guy who's supposed to save the GOP? Forget the sweat, the thirst, the nervous gestures, did Marco "Poland Springs" Rubio say a single sensible thing?

Rubio's speech was canned, predictable, and insincere.

America would be better off if Rubio was President today. Why can't we recall Obama like Wisconsin did it's Gov. & replace him with Rubio. He inspires this Independent like Regan did. I've always referred to him as a Latin Ronald Regan. I use to be a Democrat, but the party has gone too far to the left. Their showing their socialist-marxist colors and I'm sorry but that's un-American! I disagreed with Rubio on one thing...The National Demacratic Party does not love America...at least not the way it is today! They won't love it untill they transform it into a socialist-marxist country. It's hard to believe I used call myself a librial in my late teens & early twenties...then I grew up, apparently everyone at this network has failed to do so.

The US would be better off with Rubio as president instead of Obama or Romeny for that matter. I pray the US has regained it's sanity by 2016. Socialism is un-American & that's where were headed!!!!

It just goes to show that even Rubio thought his speech was dry and full of the same ole stuff that the Republicans try to sell over and over and over and over again he couldn't even swallow all of his rhetoric.

It was not an easy task for Marco Rubio. He was nervous but fighting it so hard from inside. First he started touching his mouth several times while speaking, that didn't help him. Grabbing a bottle of water while in marathon with the teleprompter was quite entertaining to watch. He did it in such a way that it came out as if he was stealing a bottle from someone. Long way to go Marco to maintain a rock star status!

I don't know what State of the Union Rubio was watching but it wasn't the one the rest of us Americans watched! He was sweating and got dry mouth because he was lying through his teeth.Sorry bud but the proven fact is under Clinton-D, with higher taxes and good Government spending this country soard. Then Bush-R came in blew the surplus, got 3,000 Americans killed, got us into 2 unpaid wars (killing 4,000 & wounding thousands more Americans), lowered taxes to the lowest in 50 years and tanked the economy.

He's hoping America will buy his rhetoric. Funny how he tried to appear "down to earth" when actually this demonstrated the GOP "scorched earth" policies.

Is he for real??? This is hilarious on soo many levels...

Now to be serious. The republicans need to step up. The country is better when you have 2 parties eriously inclined to do good for the country. If they keep images putting images ike this to the general pyublic people are going to think that they are not serios. Why couldnt Christie deliver the rebuttal speech
