Paul to make White House decision in 2014
(CNN) - While Sen. Rand Paul has expressed interest in a potential White House bid, the libertarian-leaning Republican said Sunday he won't make that call until next year.
"We won't make a decision until 2014, but I think I do want the party to become a national party again and not lose sight of how we grow as a party," he said on "Fox News Sunday." "So I will continue in that vein for a couple of years and then we'll decide."

Paul gave the tea party response to the president's State of the Union address on Tuesday and criticized both Republicans and Democrats. He also called on those in his own party to better embrace proposals for overhauling immigration policy.
The Kentucky senator has been known to butt heads with the GOP at times and cautioned after the 2012 elections that the party was "in danger of becoming a dinosaur," citing a lack of inclusiveness.
"We need a new type of Republican (Party), I think, one that involves some of the ideas of libertarian-leaning Republicans and people who agree in a less aggressive foreign policy," Paul told CNN's Brooke Baldwin in November.
Paul, who was elected to the Senate in 2010 with strong tea party support, has already taken steps that signal a presidential bid may be in the cards. He visited Israel in January, agreed to speak at the high-profile Conservative Political Action Conference next month, and even took shots at another potential Republican White House hopeful, Gov. Chris Christie.
Asked Sunday if he would run to largely make his views heard - a similar approach to that taken by his father, three-time presidential candidate Ron Paul - the senator said if he runs, he's going for the goal.
"I would absolutely not run unless it were to win," he said.

Re-certification in the medical profession ensures that surgeons have kept themselves up-to-date: I know this because my brother-in-law has had to pass the same certification exams every 10 years, the same one that Rand Paul failed numerous times before going for an alternative certification. Its little wonder he entered politics since medicine was obviously a dead end, with an inferior certification that would limit where he could practice. Dr. Aqua Buddha does not have a dignifed ring to it, anyway.
