Borger: Obama can't kick his legacy down the road
Editor's note: Gloria Borger is CNN's chief political analyst, appearing regularly on shows such as "AC360˚," "The Situation Room" and "State of the Union."
(CNN) - So let's try and recount why we are where we are: In August, 2011, Washington was trying to figure out how to raise the debt ceiling-so the US might continue to pay its bills-when a stunt was hatched: Kick the can down the road.
And not only kick it down the road, but do it in a way that would eventually force Washington to do its work: Invent a punishment.

Legacy of failure!
Of course, Borger's hit piece fails to acknowledge one glaring fact: no matter what Obama says, does or proposes, the GOP/Teatrolls will obstruct and demagogue it. Your entire attempt to lay all blame at Obama's feet falls apart on that one simple little fact. Pretending that's not the case is just reality-denial and ignores the history of the past 4 years. The GOP/Teatrolls are going to have to learn their lesson and learn it the hard way before they relent, and no, losing a second election to Obama wasn't the "hard way"...their virtual destruction via Obama handing out more and more rope and their demographic armageddon are the "hard way."
Obstruction, demagoguery.....does your story ever change sniifit? The history of the past 4 years is failed leadership, more precisely – no leadership! The good news though, it is entertaining to watch the democrats panic as actual cuts may occur for a change. Hear that? It's a whistle, the democrats are raping my pay check!

His legacy is debt, unemployment, slumping economy, heightened racial and ethnic divisions, class warfare, a failed foreign policy, and creeping socialism with ever-bigger government. Four years of fail and counting.

Besides, are you denying that the GOP/Teatrolls will simply disagree with anything and everything Obama says and does no matter what it is? If so, we can start talking polls that show differently if you'd like.

We're not at all pnicked. If sequester hits, it will do unimaginable damage to the GOP/Teatrolls. Polls show them getting blamed for it big time (i.e., your blame shift nonsense isn't working). I'm more than willing to see that happen if they won't start behaving like adults. Once they are out of the way and under the bus, we can back it up a few times before moving forward and be done with it.
