(CNN) - The U.S. Senate on Tuesday confirmed Chuck Hagel as defense secretary after a bruising political fight. The former Nebraska senator, a Republican, will succeed Leon Panetta at the Pentagon.
Don't worry GOP, you're not off the hook. We, the American people will remember that you filibustered a nominee for the Secretary of Defense DURING A TIME OF WAR.
Just how much does the GOP hate America?

Bullying is a big problem in America and why? because every day on the national stage the GOP (Goons of Politics) practice as well as glorify the bullying of others. . They bully other politicians, women, immigrants and gays and even try to openly bully the President. Their callousness knows no boundries and set a bad example for the young people who cannot at this time even look up to their politicians with pride – it is a terrible shame.

Another negligent act by the president – and democrats. Besides Hagel's world view being controversial in many crucial areas, he's dangerously not strong enough for the job. God help our troops and our country.

Thank goodness it wasn't McCain or Bolton. I shudder to think who Mr. Mittens would have picked.

@just sayin-You may be right, it may get worse. After the President finishes (please don't back down) pulling out of Afganistan, we might actually seen a few years of peace. That would be worse, right?

So what did the Republican senators learn within the extra week that prevented them from voting on Hagel last week? They learned that President Obama is not playing the silly Republican games anymore.

When Mr. Hagel has to make defense budget cuts, these same Senators will cry foul when the cuts he makes affect their States. Fortunantly, Mr.Hagel is not vindictive and will do right's for the country.

@just sayin You are big on calling people idiots. What do you call someone that doesn't capitalize the first word of each sentence? By the way, how many deaths is George Bush responsible for by sending us into an unnecessary war (Iraq)?
