Rubio advocates for arming Syrian opposition

Washington (CNN) - Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Florida, proposed the U.S. provide ammunition to the Syrian opposition Wednesday, warning that the rebels feel "abandoned" by the West.

"I think it behooves us to do everything we can to ensure that the strongest elements in Syria post-Assad are those that are listening to us, can be influenced by us and have a desire not just to keep the Syrian nation together but to respect the rights of the diverse country that Syria is," he said, told an audience at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy.

Because it worked so well with the Taliban? Shroter Rubio; "Can we please cut a giant federal check to Haliburton, Sigg Sauer and Smith & Wesson? Pretty please?"

The US has a tendency arm people tha we later have to try to disarm. Lets make sure we know who we are arming. Just because the are rebelling against their government does not mean they will be on our side.

Hey Marco, you Rube. Have you noticed the ammo shortage here in the U.S.??? They can get in line behind the Americans. You want my tax dollars to pay for someone else's ammo when I can't buy ammo with my after-tax pay?

Great idea! I mean it worked so well when Reagan armed the Taliban in Afghanistan to combat the Soviets. What could possibly go wrong? Have a drink of water, Ricky.

Maybe Rubio will pay for those arms for Syria with the money he illegally took from the Florida treasury when he was speaker..95.000 dollars on the Florida credit card.also the freebee benefits his family took while saying they were exhiles from Castro when they came to the states before Castro in the mid fifties. Lots of questionable Social security benefits and medical freebees and Scholastic freebees to REAL Cuban Exhiles and not Immigrants that came here before Cuba was a problem. Pay it off with the money you are going to spend on a DC home whlie selling your Florida home. You are not going to the free WHITE HOUSE with your background.

Who's going to pay for it Rubio? Us?
Dont we have issues of our own here at home? Arent TeaParty members all about less government and gov spending?
Or are we selling the arms to Syria and using that money to help with our own recovery?

Remember when we armed the Taliban to fight the Russians? In 2016 when he decides to run for President, will he advocate US boots on the ground in Syria to the "liberate" the country when that opposition is deemed a threat to US. interests...

Marco – If you want respect, don`t echo the John McCain talking points.

Why would we want to give weapons to people who may have anti-American interests [even terrorist interests] at heart

"My name is Rubio and I am a Fat Head"
Rubio and his blind ambition is more concern with self promotion and it is evident in his insane reasoning. America's top dogs know that after the rebels overthrow the established government with our gift of weapons, those very same weapons will be turned on and against us. 🙁

Senator we don't have the money we are broke; thanks for the previous war mongers we spend it on Iraq in case you haven’t heard. If you want finance it with RNC credit card that is fine by me.

Leave it to war mongering Republicans to want to cut spending on domestic safety net programs while spending more taxpayer money on foreign countries using a future generation's credit card.

Does this guy know the US is already 16 trillion dollars in debt? That the US government is about to sequester spending thus we can't afford to hand out money for other countries wars.
