Romney: Campaign was a 'roller coaster'

(CNN) - Mitt Romney compared his presidential run to the highs and lows of a roller coaster ride - and, like all rides, it must come to an end.

"We were on a roller coaster, exciting and thrilling ups and downs, but the ride ends and then you get off," he said in an interview with Fox News.

"And it's not like, oh, can't we be on a roller coaster the rest of our life? No, that ride's over," he added.

Romney was the Republican presidential nominee in 2012, and was defeated by President Barack Obama.

It was Romney’s second bid for the White House.

He is a former governor of Massachusetts and also mounted a U.S. Senate challenge to Edward Kennedy in 1994, but lost.

Life off of the campaign trail is "different," he said - and no doubt less stressful and slower paced.

His wife, Ann, was along for the ride and described her husband's bid for office as a type of civic service similar to his service within the Mormon church.

Life since November, she said, has been "an adjustment but it's one that I think we did well."

"It's like we came and stepped forward to serve and the other part of it was an amazing thing, and it was really quite a lot of energy and a lot of passion and a lot of people around us, and all of a sudden it was nothing," she said, seated alongside her husband.

"But the good news is fortunately we like each other."

And those who quote Ann Romney so cruelly, have absolutely no case compared to the vile and denigrating comments Michelle Obama made through the years about the country that paid her way through university.

The country paid nothing. It might interest you to know Michelle Obama's ancestors PAID HER WAY THROUGH COLLEGE many years ago (and Malia and Natasha's) with their blood, sweat and tears and anything she gained by going to school was owed her and well overdue. She didn't have her's given to her on a silver platter like Anne Romney.

Yeah, he would have been great, his tax plan was the perfect answer, as we all know how well trickle down works, and outsourcing is great for our economy, he has no core, and i cant believe how much i dislike ann, i raised two kids, worked full time, and i assure you she has no clue what that was like, would not be her for anything, a pampered spoiled woman who would not be able to handle what most parents endure raising kids, with no cook, no nanny, and certainly no cadillacs

I don't owe Michelle Obama or her kids one thin dime. She has spent her whole life sponging off other people's efforts, while she sits back, complains about this country and then reaps all the benefits. Talk about a "welfare Mom"!!!

What a flip-flopper! Changed his view on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Changed his view on where to keep and try terrorists. Changed his view on marriage laws. Changed his view on trying to control the deficit. Oh, wait that was Obama. Please change "changed" to "His thinking evolved//"

Im amazed at how foolish some people are, if your not wealthy, you really have no reason to vote republican, if you disagree, pick your reasons for voting rep. then do us all a favor and reseach which party holds your views, not fox news, get real info, not rich, they have nothing for you, there talking points dont pass a rudamentary look, its all lies, look it up before you talk about romney saving the economy, you cant be serious and say his plans would help the working class, prove me wrong

"he would have been a much better president than Obama"

Mitt's "business model" is to acquire something, kill it and go through its pockets, then sell it to the knacker to get his money back. His bank account is full of money that used to be in American workers' pockets. The guy is as close to an actual vampire as you can get in the real world; can you blame us for holding up a cross and shouting "Back, spawn of evil?"

Just like in the senate when Obama abstained from votes , he is now showing that he is incapable of making the tough decisions. Somebody should remind him that he doesn't need to campaign anymore and it is high time that he shows some gumption.
Someone needs to point out to you that when the House passed and renewed the Violence Against Women Act, that Cantor, Boehner, and Ryan all abstained, which means they did not cast a vote at all. Furhermore, using the bully pulpit is called leadershiop, not campaigning. It's what the right wing has been demanding that he should do. Your complaints lack substance.

I hope that your exposure to the part of America that isn't wealthy made an impression and that you can better understand the lives of the rest of us. I'm guessing you are back in a place where you won't have much contact with ordinary people. Unfortunately, I'm also guessing that your exposure to ordinary people wasn't sufficient for you to understand their lives, and you will probably just believe more strongly what the infamous 47% comment revealed. Now that the hustle and bustle of the campaign is over, maybe you can reflect on your experience. Maybe moderate Mitt or a new Mitt can be reborn (or born) and severely conservative can be something from the past.

If Ann Romney really just attributes her husband's campaign as a kind of mormon community service she must be one of the most insipid, intellectually vapid people in the world. Thank Godfrey Daniels that the magic underpants team failed.

    @Pander Bear
Typical American Voter , if one doesn't agree with you just call them stupid.
No wonder your country is in such a mess and yes , it is mainly due to the lack of Obama's experience and inability to bring people together , he has been the most divisive President in history.
So you should realize that calling people names is very unproductive.

So what is your point.., these Senators were not elected to be President and nor should they , however you all are sitting in boxes , be it Republican or Democrat , and are unwilling to think outside of it.
Politicians are not doing their job in Washington , and I dare say that is due to poor leadership on both sides.
