Washington (CNN) - President Obama intends to designate Edith Ramirez to be the chair of the Federal Trade Commission, a White House official said Thursday.
Ramirez has served as a commissioner of the FTC since April 5, 2010. Over the past few years Ramirez has been instrumental in ensuring there is robust competition and innovation in the high-tech marketplace, and has worked hard to protect the most vulnerable communities, the official said.

I consulted a Reuters article just to get a bit more info and I walked away confused. The article stated that Ms. Ramirez had served as a commissioner of the FTC since 2010, and then it went on to say that she'll be replacing Jon Liebowitz. Liebowitz was one of 4 commissioners...???
