(CNN) – New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie wasn't kidding when he said last year that "when the president does things that deserve scorn, I'll give him scorn."
Those comments were made after the Republican governor received some blowback from members of his party for praising the president following Superstorm Sandy. He defended himself by saying "When the president does things that deserve praise, I will give him praise," adding he would also freely criticize Obama if he disagreed with his actions.

(CNN) - After asserting in a video that U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez paid her for sex, a Dominican woman now says she was paid to make those claims and has never met the New Jersey Democrat, a court document states.
According to a notarized document, Nexis de los Santos Santana said she was filmed without her knowledge when she claimed to have had sex with Menendez.

FULL STORY(CNN) - Arkansas Gov. Mike Beebe vetoed a bill Monday afternoon that would have prohibited abortions if a fetus's heartbeat could be detected 12 or more weeks into a pregnancy.
Called the "Arkansas Human Heartbeat Protection Act," the bill would have required testing to determine "whether the fetus that the pregnant woman is carrying possesses a detectible heartbeat."
(CNN) – Republicans sitting on a Florida House committee bucked their state's GOP governor Monday by rejecting an expansion of Medicaid included in President Barack Obama's health care law.
By a party-line vote, the members of Florida's Select Committee on the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act decided against writing a bill expanding Medicaid in the Sunshine State, despite Gov. Rick Scott's pledge last month that Florida would accept the provision.

CNN first reported on Sunday that American Atheists, a group known for its in-your-face tactics, was sponsoring a billboard calling out Palin for something she said while on Fox News.
FULL STORY(CNN) – Education Secretary Arne Duncan said he should have been clearer when describing the effects automatic spending cuts would have on one particular school district in West Virginia, saying Monday he was sorry for using the faulty example.
Duncan told reporters at the White House last Wednesday that the Kanawha County school system was already handing out pink slips in anticipation of the automatic cuts that, among other things, will impact the amount of federal money states get through September.
