When Sen. Rand Paul knew that his filibuster had no chance of holding up the confirmation of John Brennan for CIA head,
it was a total and wanton waste of 13 hours of all other Senators who were present, the staff and all others concerned, which I am sure will not be a small number. The tax payers' money should have run to several thousands. Nobody in his senses would grudge the power of the President to order an American killed when it would have been the last method to protect the nation. A home-owner confronted by a petty thief in his house in the middle of night has a right to kill him without any question but Rand Paul wants the President to explain in detail under what circumstances the President would order killing of anyone even faced with dire circumstances. This lunatic has dreams of becoming the President one day! God save our nation.

This is the problem with the Political System in this country. In 13 hours the Congress of this nation could have voted to end the wars overseas, voted to give people the help they need and voted to effectively end poverty. Kill the filibuster.

As a person who considers myself pretty liberal but, perhaps, more independent, I'm disgusted with CNN's lack of coverage regarding this issue. This was a rare occurrence. The drone issue is one that, clearly, interests the majority of americans. Whichever side you fall on the issue is irrelevant. People should be exposed to discussions that highlight legitimate constitutional issues. I find CNN's level of obsession with feeble, fluff news topics as of late pretty disturbing. Wise up, CNN

The Aqua Buddha Boy has no class . He is upset about drone air strikes but says using land mines is ok.

Paul will do anything for airtime.

Shame on you, CNN. The complete lack of coverage on a filibuster regarding whether or not extrajudicial assassinations of American citizens IN AMERICA has officially rendered your organization without any remaining journalistic merit. Huffington Post covered this more than you. Just close up shop, you're worthless.

Good – Holder only said that it was perhaps possible to imagine a unique situation like 9/11, where we might be attacked on our own soil. It is understandable that if we were attacked and at war on our own soil, that we would use military weapons. Nothing was ever implied about attacking people in the US, and that should seem absurd to all rational people. Rand simply manufactured an irrational imaginary scenario out of thin air that was never even remotely implied by Holder, and then went on a crusade against his self-created irrational imaginary foe. Don Quixote style.

What is this? Holy Cow! This is all that you could come up with on this "news site". His filibuster was over Eric Holder and Obama's stance that they can kill U.S. Citizens with drones on U.S. soil, even if the target is not actively engaged in any terrorist activity. Obviously CNN has no problem with the 5th Amendment being ignored, and people being murdered by the government. Do you realize as to how sickening this is?

At least he stood on the floor of the Senate to actually do the filibuster rather than all the threating people have been doing lately.
