Sarah Palin is coming to town

(CNN) - Do you hear what I hear? Sarah Palin already has Christmas on her mind.

In the upcoming title, "A Happy Holiday IS a Merry Christmas," the former Alaska governor argues the holiday has become too secular because of "the politically correct elite who have hijacked the season," according to a release from the book's publisher, HarperCollins.

Scheduled for a November release, her new book will be out in time for purchase by all holiday shoppers, naughty or nice.

Her book, the publisher states, will make the argument for a more traditional Christmas that emphasizes the Christian theme behind the holiday. Palin will highlight "the importance of preserving Jesus Christ in Christmas," whether that's in public displays, school concerts or pageants. The book will also include personal memories and traditions from the most wonderful time of the year.

The 2008 vice presidential nominee has been known to defend her stance on Christmas in the past. In 2011, Palin blasted President Obama's Christmas card as "odd" on Fox News because it featured the family's dog, Bo, sitting by a fire, rather than prominently displaying values of "family, faith and freedom."

In a statement, Palin said her new book will be a "fun, festive, thought provoking" piece that will encourage readers to "unite in defense of our faith and ignore the politically correct Scrooges who would rather take Christ out of Christmas."

The book follows her two other books, "Going Rogue" (2009) and "America by Heart" (2010).

And, also, why does Palin think she has the audacity to push her religion onto others? She is a loser...and I hope that next week, she will just become anonymous.

Palin is the answer to: Why do you need more than just a pretty face? Empty headed rehtoric and fallacious arguments may appeal to the uninformed or self imposed ignorant. But the American electorate is becoming more informed and delving into critical thinking. Note the last two general elections.

If anything Christmas should be in June or July.

Christmas "time" in december like most christian celebrations is based on pagan holidays: this on e is based on the Roman festival Sol Invictus ("Unconquered Sun") .

"the politically correct elite who have hijacked the season,"...bwahahahah!!

Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

She says that christmas was hijacked ?? Actually she's right. It was hijacked years ago from the secular world and made a religious holiday. The birthday that is celebrated didn't even happen in December according to most religious scholars anyway.

What an absolute moron this useless troll is. When is she going to realize that absolutely no one respects her and the only reason she still gets attention is because America needs its national fool to look at and chuckle.

Not that I would expect Sarah to know anything about such things, but the holiday she's touting was originally Pagan, and the early Christians just piggy-backed upon the existing practices. There's no evidence to prove that the 25th was the date of Jesus' birth, any more than the always-flexible date of Easter could possibly be the date of his death and resurrection, since it can vary by more than a month. So...let's make certain she's writing about the real holiday. On the other hand, she should know a fair bit about the true origin of the "12 days of Christmas" since they relate not to anything Christian but rather to the German period known as Rauhnächte. Folks in Alaska would likely know about the "hairy nights," right?

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. May those who do not believe in Heave or Hell find neither and their souls wonder aimlessly through eternity without purpose or meaning.

  24. Palin Is a Greedy Money Changer. Turn over her Tables!

If this "woman" thinks secular christians like myself who are keen to extend the spirit to people of all faiths (as a true christian should), then perhaps she should explain why she is engaged in an act of crass christmas time commericalism. She is exploting Christmas in a far worse way than any secular who wishes people a positive thougt in their own way – the last time I checked, Americans were free to doso, but not per the world according to fl;ase christian hijack artists after a quick buck.

    March 12, 2013 04:43 pm at 4:43 pm |

If she does not want Christmas to be taken out of context, she should not be selling product like a crass capitalist who has zero respect for jesus' birth. Palin is worse than any atheist – she uses religion to make money. Perhaps she;d be happier in Rome.
