
(CNN) - The National Rifle Association's New York state affiliate filed a federal lawsuit Thursday in Buffalo contesting the constitutionality of the SAFE Act, the sweeping gun-control bill Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed into law in January, the group announced in a press release.
The new laws fortify New York's existing assault weapons ban, limit the number of bullets allowed in ammunition magazines and strengthen rules that govern the mentally ill, which includes a requirement to report potentially harmful behavior.

There are plenty of others in the country against the nra and everything bad they represent. If the repugs couldn't buy an election they can't buy our safety.
Backgtround checking is a must. In the county where I live in MD the police paid $100 per gun. They were able to take 631 guns off the streets (these included handguns, rifles, shotguns , BB guns and even ammunition). BTW, it's not that people in my county need the money either!
