Who is on God's side of the marriage debate?
Washington (CNN) – As the Supreme Court considers two major same-sex marriage cases that could change marriage in the United States, religious leaders on both sides of the debate believe they are on God's side of the contentious issue.
In the months leading up to this week's Supreme Court hearings, religious leaders from across the country have held prayer vigils and rallies for their respective causes.

You know. I think I'm going to let God decide which side He is on. It is for Him to judge ... and only Him.
Wouldn't the better question be: Is this an issue God should waste his time on? Wouldn't Gods time be better spent helping the homeless, the hungry, or the sick? If this is an issue God pays attention to, then God needs to prioritize his/her time. Or could it be that the bible beaters need to reevaluate their priorities? Think first, then try to keep from making fools of yourselves.
you can not pick and choose what you want out of the bible... and there are plenty of false teachers.... ...thats why it look so stupid for sen. mccaskill to quote a verse from the bible...
Fortunately, the Court is not there to argue for (or against) God. It is there to sort out the laws of the land. Because the GOP keeps passing hyper-partisan, social-issue laws (for their fanatical base), their laws on marriage, abortion, employment and more get challenged in the courts. The Supreme Court is the final arbiter on those laws.
They reap what they sow.

All these hypocrites who are presuming to know what God thinks or wants (not out of belief, but to acquire and maintain power, money, etc.) are in for quite a shock at the Pearly Gates. Oh to be a fly on the cloud when God asks them what they were thinking.....

One would think an all powerful being would have more important things to worry about than which puny mortals love one another. How about the 25000 kids that die of starvation each day? It's interesting how the thoughts of gods always reflect the thoughts of their followers.

All Americans have every right to religion. But they should NOT be forced to live by them as well. To force anyone to live by any religion is totally wrong. Same sex marriages will be finally be leagal across the untire U.S. and people will not be demonized any longer.

This nation was founded to have a secular government. Separation of Church and State means "God" has no input. The Christian God may frown upon homosexuality, but there are other cultures in the world that do not.
Why is this even an issue? Who is harmed by legally recognizing gay marriage? Xian say their god is offended...well if he is offended, I am sure he could handle the situation and doesn't need their help. Before he worries about who is doing what to who, he should be concentrating on the starving in this world, those who are victims of abuse, those who are suffering.....
This process shouldn't even be necessary to legitimize two people who want to be afforded the same rights as everyone else.
Marriage is not a religious issue, It is a legal issue. It is all about the legal rights and protections for married persons, vs. the lack of those same rights and protections for partners who are not married, but want to be.
Religion has attempted to take marriage as something only they have authority over........which is simply ridiculous. Then it is one religion against another.
This is the perfect example of what is WRONG with religion itself.
God is not a puppeteer...man makes the law on earth. When we die I believe we are judged by what's in our heart and our actions. Not by who we marry!!!
We know the dems didnt want god on their side so I have to conclude that god, a conservative, would want marriage to remain between a man and woman. After all, he didnt create Adam and Adam.....

Marriage is not a religious issue, It is a legal issue. It is all about the legal rights and protections for married persons, vs. the lack of those same rights and protections for partners who are not married, but want to be.
