Mark Sanford has a woman problem

(CNN) - Mark Sanford is another step closer to political redemption, but the real headline out of his Tuesday victory in a Republican primary runoff for his old congressional seat was a rare public appearance by his former mistress - who's now his fiancée.

And while the former South Carolina governor is considered the favorite in next month's general election showdown with Democratic nominee Elizabeth Colbert Busch, the sister of satirist and Comedy Central host Stephen Colbert, his past infidelity remains front and center in the race and could continue to hurt him with crucial female voters.

Jake Tapper interviews Mark Sanford Wednesday on "The Lead" - 4 p.m. ET, only on CNN.

Sanford has a host of problems, and all of them seem to have some sort of mental factor associated with them. It is my understanding that when he first ran for SC Governer, his now ex-wife had been hs campaign manager. Apparently, she's very good at managing a campaign, both big and small. It would seem that when Sanford first got the idea to run again, he actually had the gall to call his ex-wife and ask him to be his campaign manager. "I'll pay you this time for it."

Sanford sure does have a women problem and its they don't like hypocrites and ones who think they know women being condesending as well toward them..And remember Sanford its women who might just bring your political three ringed circus down apon your head ..Sandford still thinking women should stay barefoot and pregnant like most old white racist that are of the republican party!!

why do woman care about infidelity? a lot of them are cheaters as well. at least sanford is following his heart and marrying his love. i guess democrats expect people to do what bill clinton did, just keep getting it on the side and dumping on your wife forever. yeah, much better right?

I'm sure that Sanford would rather talk about women, wars on women, and anything else associateed with women, instead of taking responsibility for his deriliction of duty as Governer and his ensuing refusal to step down. Actions that were defended by prominent conservatives and Republicans all across the country.

"This is the same Mark Sanford who, as governor, disappeared from office and used taxpayer money to visit his mistress. With all the issues we are working on, we do not need him in Congress,"
Everyone seems to overlook the fact that he used taxpayer money for this Argentinian love quest. If he can't be trusted with South Carolinians tax dollars, he sure can't be trusted with federal tax dollars. El y su conyuge puede ir a acampar en el sendero de los Apalaches.

I should say so. I don't think many women have an iota of respect for a thief and a cheat.

Just askin – if he no longer wanted to be in his marriage, he should have handled it appropriately with respect toward his wife. he should have asked for a divorce instead of "hiking the Appalachian trail." I think women care about infidelity...but what would I know, I'm just a woman. I think women of the family values party will also have concerns about his infidelity. Oh wait...we're talking the republican party where family values standards only apply to others.

No it is not a woman problem. It is a costume malfunction. That darned ole' zipper just won't stay up. Of course a total lack of scruples could play into it somewhere. Gotta love those Family Values.

I hope his "fiancee" realizes, how she got him is how she is going to lose him. You can't be happy off someone else's misery. If he cheated on wife #1, he'll be soon cheating on this one.
She will feel the same pain and misery that his wife has and so will he.

or does it only matter when the cheaters are republicans? democrats can womanize and cheat to their hearts content? several accused bill clinton of far worse.

If I was one of the residents in SC, I could have forgiven and sympathised with Stanford if he was still alone and not together with the mistress who caused the whole fiasco. The who picture doesn't look good in the eyes of x-wife, his kids and people in SC.

What occurs in his private life, or with whom he has relationships with, shouldn't matter. Using Tax-money to fund his follies SHOULD! – @Marita.

And Clinton's infidelities (in the Oval Office and elsewhere) are never discussed?? Please – there's enough bad behavior to go around – no one gets a free pass.

Also, Obama should not accept any of his salary – and cut out the lavish parties and unnecessary luxurious vacations on taxpayer money. He should also open the White House doors to the American people! Then he should be brought before the grand jury for the Benghazi cover-up.
