(CNN) – Republican leaders in Congress received a dire warning on Tuesday from former Vice President Dick Cheney on the ongoing crisis in North Korea.
“We’re in deep doo doo,” Cheney told lawmakers, according to a GOP leadership aide.

Cheney added the current North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un, is unpredictable and doesn't share the United States worldview.
One lawmaker present at the session, Rep. Steve Southerland of Florida, said Cheney wore a cowboy hat and "looked really good, spoke really clearly, lucidly.”
“It was nice to see him doing well,” Southerland said, noting the last time Cheney was on Capitol Hill he "didn’t look good – very frail, but in this meeting he looked great."

Cheney, 72, underwent a successful heart transplant in 2012 after a series of heart attacks over many years.
Southerland said Cheney spent about 10 minutes in the GOP leadership meeting Tuesday, and didn't give any specific policy recommendations or critiques of how the Obama administration is handling the situation in North Korea.
Cheney talked about the North Korean leader, Southerland said, and shared some of his history dealing with Saddam Hussein, noting "you never know what they're thinking."

Southerland, summarizing the former vice president’s remarks, said Cheney advised not to “eliminate any possibility.”
“Here's a young guy we don't know very much about – have very little intel on him, so we just need to make sure that we don't assume why he's doing what he's doing because he could be doing what he's doing for any number of reasons,” Southerland recalled Cheney saying.
Cheney also dropped by the weekly House GOP whip meeting at the invitation of Rep. Kevin McCarthy.

Cheney himself is a former House Republican whip.
"Whip McCarthy invited Vice President Cheney to discuss the ongoing situation on the Korean Peninsula with members of our whip team. We appreciate the vice president for sharing his insight and experience on the matter," a McCarthy aide told CNN.
The aide declined to say whether Cheney suggested any specific course of action on the situation in North Korea during this meeting.
Japan's capital living in shadow of North Korea's belligerence
Crawl back into your hole and shut up Cheney. You are a nightmare.
Cheney added the current North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un, is unpredictable and doesn't share the United States worldview.

Hmmm, I agree with the first part, but since was agreeing with the US worldview part of the package? China does not agree with the US view either, or many others – it means nothing. Every country has its own worldview.
Yeah...what Frank said.
I would rather listen to a hobo on Main St. than Cheney. At least the hobo has a clean state when it comes to foreign affairs and 50/50 chance of being right.
Cheney on the other hand has been 90% wrong when it comes to foreign policies and intenrational relations.
Remember this was the guy who said Saddam was going to launch WMD at the US for sure!
He said US troops only need 2 or 3 months tops! (yeah we're there 10 years later).
He PROMISED the American people the war will be cheap because we'll pay for it afterwards from Iraqi oil revenues.
LOLOL
On the domestic front he was also certain the Republicans will overhwhelmingly win the 2010 election cycle!
He's been wrong more times than not...why is anyone still listening to him is beyond assinine! not to mention dangerous!!!
He looks good but describes an international crisis as deep doo doo. I think his diaper was dirty and Southerland was supposed to change it. BTW, we had a treaty w/ North Korea before W tossed it out.
The great man representing the true Americans.
Dick Cheny talks like a toddler and this is front page news?
What a waste of a donor's precious heart given to this heartless of scum bag souless individual. I believe he bought this heart since everything is for sale in America, particularly to the rich. What a waste....
Dick is by far the best president we've ever had!
For get Cheney he's history bad history at that, the problem we have now are the far right an the hate they have for OBAMA.
I long for an American back in the White House. Obama is ARMING our enemies (like the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt) and DISARMING the American People (gun confiscation in NYS)! Why? Ask yourself that single question? Of course this North Korean thing is not going to go well. We have a Non-American in the White House – and he is slowly PROGRESSING toward our complete destruction. Just think about it! I am not a 'birther'! I think Obama was born in Hawaii. Period. BUT – BUT – I think he was mentally brainwashed that America is inherently bad. Oppressors, a colonial power. Of course he is wrong. But he has a NON-American (not Un-American) – a NON-American view of the world. He thinks we need to be put back in our place – by completely crashing the country to the ground – so it can be rebuilt the way he wants – as a Socialist Republic. Think About It!
I bet the heart donor must be rolling on his grave.
PERFECT Comment for the Dumb Boy OBAMA Administration. LOVE IT !
I guess Halliburton is running low on money. They need another war to bump up their proffit$
The only thing in deep doo doo is the smell of Cheney's breath!!!
Thank God that we have a few leaders such as Dick Cheney and Steve Southerland to stand up to the idiots in North Korea and all of their fellow travelers who post their assinine comments on this page. You know who I mean. The same guys who first learned their trade from writing their phone numbers on New York City subway urinals, otherwise known as the NYT's recruitment center.
Why do we listen to Dick Cheney at all? When are his observations ever correct?
Clinton stated to broker a peace agreement with the NK towards the end of his 2nd term, it was up to Bush to finish the deal and he basicly threw it in the trash and called NK part of the axis of evil. And now we are in deep doo doo.
Let's send Cheney to N Korea to resolve the mess. He seemed to be able to start wars, create false lies. He is good at deception to this nation.
"Deep doo doo" - LMAO that is the best a former VP can come up with? What an intelligent statement. That explains a lot.
This is rich – "Cheney shared some of his history dealing with Saddam Hussein, noting "you never know what they're thinking."" There's no doubt, Cheney and his perspectives were a bonanza of lunacy presented to a rapt bunch of junior GOP idiot wannabes clinging to every word from the all time Grand Master of lies, fraud, fabrication, manipulation, corruption and subterfuge... so, let's face it, "you never know what they're thinking." The fact is... if they're listening to Cheney they're incapable of thinking. With Cheney serving as their soothsayer the future of the GOP and its leadership looks scarey.
he shpould be in prison for war crimes
Why would anyone believe this liar. What, is Haliburton's stock price down.
I have no idea why anyone listens to Cheney.
Cheney needs to get on his horse and ride off into the sunset. Neither we nor SoKo are in "deep doo-doo" with NoKo. We just have to let the little puss rant and have his tantrum, and wait and watch. Walk softly, and carry a big stick, as Teddy said. Ignoring him in the media might be a wise thing to do. CNN is riding this story like a rodeo bull and all these talking heads are the rodeo clowns. If NoKo launches a missile and it doesn't do any harm, so what. WE can learn a lot from it, just like we are letting Kim give us a great joint training excercise at his expense.
