On a call about guns, Biden reacts to Boston explosions
(CNN) - Vice President Joe Biden was on a conference call about legislation to combat gun violence Monday when he heard about the apparent bombings at the Boston Marathon.
"As I'm speaking here, they just turned on the television in my office and apparently there has been a bombing– I don't know any of the details of what caused it, who did it–I don't think it exists yet but our prayers are with those people in Boston who have suffered injuries," he said. "I don't know how many of them there are. I'm looking at it on television now."
Meanwhile, a White House official said the president has been notified of the explosions.
"His administration is in contact with state and local authorities. He directed his administration to provide whatever assistance is necessary in the investigation and response," the official said.

I hope we will get some answers about this bombing soon! Who ever did this, be they foreign or domestic, should have every law concievable thrown at them! My heart goes out to those injured/killed & their families! It also goes out to posters who are bickering over nonsensical matters! We're all in this together, people & must show solidarity against those who want to take our persuit of happiness away by instilling fear & discord!!

I am truly sickened by some of these comments, what idiot would or could involve the Vice President or the President in this terrible act in Boston, it just shows the depth of their mentality.
The only hope for our collective humanity is to come together at times like this. The comments section here makes me profoundly sad, everyone using this tragedy to score political points. THIS is what terrorists, foreign or domestic, want; to scare us into turning on each other, strengthen the walls that divide us. If you are using this episode to make a point about Biden, Obama, anti-NRA, pro-NRA, Bush, the media or anything else: You are the problem with America.
During 911 the country united in less than an hour to avenge those that hurt us. Now it happens again and there is pure hate on all sides of the political spectrum. This is because the idiot occupying the white house has divided us beyond hope. Wake up people.
So are we going to start banning household items that can be used to create bombs now to?

Very sad to see some of these hateful comments, 'Dean', 'truthmachine74', you guys need to put things in perspective...prayers to the victims and their families. It's too soon to assign blame to home-grown nuts or international terrorists. It would have to be a very sick person(s) to attack innocent runners and their families & tourists who had nothing to do with anything! Also, its crazy to see how the gun nuts here (by that i mean people who r crazy and paranoid that everyone is out to get them & they need to hide like cowards behind guns to feel safe) are making this tragic incident about gun legislation, when it has nothing to do with it.
