White House Correspondents' Dinner

Tune to CNN from 9-11pm ET for live coverage of the White House Correspondents' Dinner.

(CNN) - It's the biggest dinner inside the Beltway where the president, journalists and Hollywood celebrities gather in Washington for an evening of socializing and typically lighthearted speeches. Along with President Obama, the event headliner is talk show host Conan O'Brien.

See below for an inside look at the event through social media posts from attendees on CNN's Storify.

I would LOVE to watch this, but CNN seems to think replaying and replaying the same thing over and over and over. I am so fed up with CNN lately.

Personally, I find these dinners tasteless (and sometimes over the line), but to those who like, watch and enjoy them enjoy yourselves.

So how much is this costing Main Street America. I wonder which Americans have the lowest opinion of–the media or the Washington politicians?

This film is stupid. I would have preferred to see the real life talk from the correspondents dinner. The average person would rather hear the speech about that you interrupted concerning what the White House Correspondents Assn does. YOu intererrupted when they were talking about their rights such as a place for breast feeding their babies. This is more interesting to the people at large. We are not interested in the CNN anchors yabbering. If we are watching CNN this evening, we want to watch the White House Correspondents dinner, not you self important CNN anchors.

I watched maybe 5 mins of it... and decided, why do I want to see a fraud mocking the American people in a severe time as this?. I did notice quite a few Illuminati memebers in good standing in the crowd.

Yuk it up, enjoy it while you can.

Wow. Record unemployment, a disastrous attempt at healthcare reform, another terrorist attack and more Americans suffering than any era since the Great Depression, and the celebrities, media and their beloved President yuk it up. How much more self-congratulations and idiocy can we tolerate?

Again, when they start to speak about serious matters after Conan, you cut the talk off. Ridiculous.

What a giant waste of money. Why regular people are so obsessed with the over indulgence of super rich people is beyond me.

Dear CNN, please do not call a live tweeting a story and put it on your front page. Some of us still come here to read the news stories and really don't feel like wading through unedited blabber.

    Ok, Humm,
Have you ever Googled NEVER GOT A DINNER by Red Buttons. Go take a look. If the Nation wasn't in such Dire Straights this would be more in Vogue. But it reminds me of Nero. Tomorrow it is back to the Salt Mines for those that have a job, the unemployment lins for those still looking.

Personally, I thought the video-clip with him wearing 'bangs' was pretty funny! With all the horrific events of late, it feels good to find SOMETHING amusing! It made me laugh, + I needed that!

Again I say "Who cares." Is this so offensive that CNN felt that it had to be deleted? Typical CNN - only publishes what it wants and not the cross section of America.

Yuck it up boys and girls, things are real funny now. I especially like the fact that our rights are being taken away and our constitution is being trashed while millions of law breaking illegals are sucking this nation dry. Yuck it up boys, you make me sick.

That our President is confident enough to poke fun at himself says a lot about him. I loved the Republican jokes – it's about time we got to laugh at some of the crap they put out about the President. I'm sure the there was a writer for those jokes, but President Obama has the timing and delivery down – he's hilarious. Those knocking the President in their posts here either don't have any sense of humor, or else just don't get the jokes. Lighten up, righties.

Keep up all your negative, tear America apart comments all you hate-filled idiots; you're only proving the Presidents "everyone is so cynical now" remarks to be spot-on accurate!! Losers all!!
