(CNN) - Mr. President: Mitch McConnell is ready to have that drink.
The Senate Minority Leader's campaign team posted a photo on Twitter of McConnell sitting at a bar with an empty seat and two drinks.

"Greetings from coal country!" read the tweet, directed at President Obama.
The tweet came in response to one of the president's biggest lines of the night Saturday during his comedic routine at the annual White House Correspondents' Dinner.
Setting up the joke, Obama reminded his audience of his recent congressional outreach, in which he's hosted two dinners with Republican senators.
"Of course, even after I've done all this, some folks still don't think I spend enough time with Congress. 'Why don't you get a drink with Mitch McConnell?" they ask. Really? Why don't you get a drink with Mitch McConnell?"
Amid the applause and laughter, he added: "I'm sorry. I get frustrated sometimes."
In the new photo, McConnell sits smiling in one of two chairs at the corner of a bar, pointing invitingly to the other seat. The Republican senator from Kentucky has a beer, while a glass of red wine sits idly by the empty chair.
Speaking of "empty chair," the tweet was also directed at Hollywood legend Clint Eastwood, who notoriously spoke to an empty chair meant to represent Obama at the Republican National Convention in August.
McConnell faces re-election next year.
- CNN's Paul Steinhauser and Ashley Killough contributed to this report.

So he's just now responding to something President Obama said Saturday night??? Mitch we sent your sorry rear end to the Senate to work, not to attempt to one up the Commander-In-Chief.
Seriously McConnell? A person couldn't have an intelligent conversation with you if you brought along two translators and the box that helps Stephen Hawking talk. Rightwing floater.
The Dirty Old Man from Kentucky " Mitch McConnell ".
Make Obama a one term president , what's Mitch drinking bud light or rebel yell ?
"hat's Mitch drinking bud light or rebel yell ?"
HAHA...I'd like to see Mitchetta handle a 20 oz. glass of Rebel Yell...or try to at least.
Oh wait, that's Thursdays....
ME.....I think you got that all wrong. You should check out all your conservative buddies screaming at the top of their keyboards at the president for attending the dinner over the weekend. It is well known that conservatives are the ones with a stick stuck way up there. However, it has little to do with them being prudes and more to do with them actually liking it.
nobody wants to have a drink with this guy,,,lol
The racist beer drinker is at it again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-ME
@ghostriter....yes we do and you libs act like you have a stick up your butttttt all the time!!! You should try and enjoy life sometime, you might be surprised! All of you libs need to relax and enjoy life sometimes, this was some light hearted fun just like your messiah had on Saturday night! What a miserable life you all must live, so hateful all the time!

We do....its your lot that are hard-wired for hate all the time.
LOL. I laughed at the POTUS' jokes and laughing at this as well. I would rather them take shots of humor at each other everyday than the normal, blah blah blah complain complain complain, we hear from our politicians. It's the lefts fault, no its the rights fault...whah whah whah. Very very few in D.C. even have common sense, rather they have in common dollars and cents. If it don't make them money personally through kickbacks or political gain, they complain, if it does, they go all out in support. The parties have the same goal with a different spin, wake up people, stop blaming a party one way or the other, neither party is the solution to stopping big brother's takeover of our country. It is a joke anymore how people continue to ride party lines like they won something. Really, those who voted for Obama desired to get rid of Bush's policies, yet Obama extended them, how ya like that "change" and "hope" victory? If the conversation was about less government versus more government, we may have a real debate, till then it is the same ol sad song and dance.
Please, not the infamous "empty chair" routine. Yeah, because it went over so well at the convention. What an all time loser! Let's just pray come election day, his chair will be empty.
