NRA's LaPierre says gun rights struggle a 'long war'

(CNN) - Wayne LaPierre, the nation's most visible gun rights advocate, rallied supporters on Saturday for a renewed fight against gun-control, saying membership is up since the Newtown massacre and calling the effort to stop new limits a "long war" and a "fight for everything we care about."

Remarks by the National Rifle Association's executive vice president at the group's annual convention in Houston were heavy with militaristic and sweeping patriotic rhetoric and were characteristically hard on President Barack Obama, who has pushed for new firearms restrictions following the Connecticut school massacre in December.

La Pierre does nothing good for sensible gun owners in America. If La Pierre is the face of the gun-owning population in America, its simply time to do away with the Second Amendment. Background checks will merely verify these people shouldn't go around unsupervised. These people are simply radical, violent kooks.

Hint: people who honor gun rights need to toss the NRA overboard- if you don't, they will take you and your guns down with them.

So, how many bodyguards does LaPierre have with him this weekend? Is he sure all of the "good" guys
attending and buying guns and ammunition are truly "good" guys? Is he sure buyers will have a
    background check? No.
Is he a fraud? You betcha!

At 64 years of age La Pierre has had ample opportunities to take up arms to defend our country – something he actively avoided during the Vietnam War. He also could have defended Americans as a police officer, border patrol agent or some other profession requiring firearms for the good of the people. Instead he became a gun lobbyist – dedicated to a high salary and absolutely committed to lies, distortions, and ridiculous conspiracies designed to make Americans fear their neighbors and distrust their government. Like most "chicken-hawks" he's all talk – but his talk has caused many unnecessary deaths by gun violence. Satan is saving Wayne a special place of honor...

La Pierre is doing no more than protecting his money.....He doesn't care about people dead or alive...with him it's all money.. The NRA does not really represent the 2nd amendment because it was written in a time when muskets were the guns and it was a job to reload. They were 'one shot" guns and could not kill 20 school kids in less than five minutes....THIS IS YOUR 2ND AMENDMENT.???.....HAVE YOU EVEN READ IT.....Do you know what a "Well regulated militia"" is???.... or are you just taking Pierres word for your rights ?????????

Oh, how the gun nuts love to feel persecuted and justified in owning all their member compensation devices.

What's laughable is if the guvment really wanted to take their guns away, it could in a heartbeat (hint: it's called the U.S. military).

But it doesn't and it won't ... but that won't keep these gun nut yahoos from feeding their fantasies ...

The NRA and its leaders plus some gun rights people are TRAITORS to the USA. They are UNAMERICAN in what they say and should be suspect for terror. The NRA only mission is to sell guns for the gun manufacturers. This is their mission. They care less about this nation and the people. I wish our government would investigate the NRA and its leaders.

I'm a liberal Democrat, born in San Francisco, California. I was once an NRA member, back when they focused on hunter's safety. Today, they're just a radical right-wing fringe group that is nothing more than a front for the gun industry. The upside is, is that they and the GOP are sprinting toward extinction, as the only people that embrace either group are ignorant, illiterate cowards and paranoid freaks.

Human beings are inclined to worship created things and destroy themselves. God has given us a free will, guns is
a part of the human test (Deuteronomy 30: 19). The Creator is still watching our use of it (Ephesians 6: 16-17)

Under the sclerotic leadership of LaPierre, it will be a losing battle for the NRA in time.

Tell the truth slobbering la pierre all you care about is making money from the fools who think you have their best interest at hand. This includes flip flopping about the nra's views on background checks.
Your incoming president says the Civil War was caused by Northern aggression. Completely rewriting history but what can we expect from a good ole southern boy from Alabama?
    Not much.

La Pierre and the NRA believe:
    1. That criminals and terrorists need to be able to buy guns, no questions asked, at gun shows, and on the internet. They are actively arming enemies of America.
    2. That America should simply suck it up: 22 first graders blown up by a kook with an AR-15, and 3,800 gun deaths since Newtown are a reasonable trade for his crazy groups' "gun rights".

The NRA, and people like La Pierre are symbolic of evil in America. It is time to put them down and take back our country from the lunatic fringe.
