Extra IRS scrutiny on conservative applications shows 'corruption,' Palin says
(CNN) - Sarah Palin said the Internal Revenue Service's recent scrutiny of conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status is a sign of "corruption at the heart of big government" in Washington.
"So many Americans knew this was happening, but many felt defenseless and even helpless against a government that seems to roll along without accountability or sense of obligation to the people it's supposed to serve. These Americans were mocked for being concerned about this, but now we see light shining on the truth, finally," she wrote in an online posting shortly after the IRS acknowledged it made "mistakes" in handling the applications of tea party groups.

Lois Lerner, director of tax exempt organizations for the IRS, said 75 applications were singled out between 2010 and 2012 for extended review because the words "tea party" and "patriot" were included in the groups' names. Those applications were part of approximately 300 which received additional scrutiny during that time.
"Americans should remember that this same corrupt IRS will be in charge of enforcing Obamacare," she wrote. "And this same inept and corrupt government will supposedly secure our now unsecured borders in advance of immigration reform and will implement a completely ethical and non-political IPAB panel to make life and death health care decisions for you and your family. Forgive me for not trusting these big government promises any more than I trust the White House's latest Benghazi spin or the IRS' fairness."
Palin, the 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate, further wrote, "I'm sure President Obama is grateful for all the help the IRS gave his reelection campaign, but, still, you have to wonder how the bureaucrats who tried to pull this off can sleep at night."
She called for "accountability and a full investigation" as well as a special committee to look into the Benghazi, Libya, attack last September.

after reading some of the posts it is really amazing how Palin haters are willing to give the IRS a pass because of their political foolishness. Regardless of your political affiliation there should be outrage at this type of aggressive and abusive behavior. Those giving the IRS a pass due to their bias should be ashamed.

She has some nerve droning on about corruption and misrepresentation of the current administration when everything that comes out of her mouth is blatantly false. Just look at her try to wrap this around Obamacare and the Benghazi situation, as if either of those have the slightest thing to do with the IRS openly admitting that low-level GS employees made some poor choices.
Also, I move that we stop referring to her as "Palin, the 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate," and instead refer to her as "Palin, the failed reality TV star and half-term governor of Alaska." I feel certain that most Republicans would be on board, and it is a more apt description of her qualifications for commenting on politics than is the constant reminder that John McCain made a terrible choice for a running mate.

I agree with you, jim. The IRS seems to what to put fear in all of us. We were audited about 9 years ago. We had receipts for everything we put down. IRS said we owed them $1,250. We lost. It was either pay it back or go to jail, hence lose your jobs and house and car. So we opted to just pay it and get them out of our lives. Ticks me off that millionaires can get by for years with tax evasion and basically get a slap on the back of the hand, but us "little folks" go to jail or pay NOW.
Hope and Change. Is it time to eliminate the Income Tax/IRS and replace it with a less intrusive national sales tax?

Sarah Palin is the former governor of Alaska, a state with fewer people than Nashville, TN. She didn't even finish her term. She was chosen as McCain's running mate as a stunt. Could somebody please tell me why I am supposed to care about what she thinks and says?
