Extra IRS scrutiny on conservative applications shows 'corruption,' Palin says
(CNN) - Sarah Palin said the Internal Revenue Service's recent scrutiny of conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status is a sign of "corruption at the heart of big government" in Washington.
"So many Americans knew this was happening, but many felt defenseless and even helpless against a government that seems to roll along without accountability or sense of obligation to the people it's supposed to serve. These Americans were mocked for being concerned about this, but now we see light shining on the truth, finally," she wrote in an online posting shortly after the IRS acknowledged it made "mistakes" in handling the applications of tea party groups.

Lois Lerner, director of tax exempt organizations for the IRS, said 75 applications were singled out between 2010 and 2012 for extended review because the words "tea party" and "patriot" were included in the groups' names. Those applications were part of approximately 300 which received additional scrutiny during that time.
"Americans should remember that this same corrupt IRS will be in charge of enforcing Obamacare," she wrote. "And this same inept and corrupt government will supposedly secure our now unsecured borders in advance of immigration reform and will implement a completely ethical and non-political IPAB panel to make life and death health care decisions for you and your family. Forgive me for not trusting these big government promises any more than I trust the White House's latest Benghazi spin or the IRS' fairness."
Palin, the 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate, further wrote, "I'm sure President Obama is grateful for all the help the IRS gave his reelection campaign, but, still, you have to wonder how the bureaucrats who tried to pull this off can sleep at night."
She called for "accountability and a full investigation" as well as a special committee to look into the Benghazi, Libya, attack last September.

Sarah, no one gives a flip what you think and they should be scrutinized because most of them are terror and fear mongerers disguised as true patriots. You are irrelevant and an embarrassment to the people of Alaska and the U.S. go back and be a mother so that none of your other children have children out of wedlock and before they re of legal age.
Our inept and corrupt government. Yes, that about sums it up. We must withdraw our support for and co-operation with it in all spheres. Those who serve it must also be shunned as you would an occupying enemies forces.

Hmmm. Tea Party groups engage in political advocacy, almost by definition. If a group using the terms Democratic, or Republican applied for tax exempt status they should get extra scrutiny, too. The problem seemed to be one of terminology. The term "Tea Party" remains farily new, and I don't think it's crazy or unfair to associate with political activity. What do you think of when you hear Tea Party? Do you think they work for and advocate for and endorse particular conditiates? We hear about politicians being endorsed by the Tea Party all the time. That isn't tax exempt activity.
Far too many groups on both sides of the aisle engage in political activity while maintaining tax exempt status. Pastors advocate for candidates from the pulpit. We need to look at more groups on both sides of the political divide and not single anyone out.

I didn't read the above article. I have no interest in Sarah Pailin. But these allegations show a decidedly stupid move on the part of the IRS. I, as a Democrat suggest that the Obama Administration clean it up.

I used to write letters to my senators, here in calif. but all the answer i received from them was form letters. I became afraid to send letters to them for fear they would sic the irs or some other govt org. on to me so now I just make coments in places like this but am still afraid of what they might do .

An apology is not enough as there were serious laws broken. People need to serve time to make sure this doesn't happen again. It has become clear that our entire federal government has been turned into a leftist Democrat Party crime and propaganda machine. If laws don't start getting enforced in this country,all hell will break lose eventually.
Sara Palin is an idiot. But with that said, I would probably vote for her in 2016 if she runs.
