GOP governors call for special prosecutor in IRS case
(CNN) – The two leaders of the Republican Governors Association called for the appointment of a special prosecutor Tuesday to investigate any legal wrongdoing within the Internal Revenue Service.
Gov. Bobby Jindal of Louisiana and Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin - who both are considered potential candidates for the 2016 GOP presidential nomination - wrote in a letter to President Barack Obama the recent revelation the IRS was applying extra scrutiny to conservative groups applying for tax exempt status amounted to a "witch hunt to prevent Americans from exercising their First Amendment rights."

Vermont moves to pass end-of-life choice law
(CNN) – Vermont moved Monday to become the fourth state in the nation with a law permitting doctors to prescribe deadly doses of medication to patients facing terminal illness, and the first to pass such a measure through the state legislature.
The measure passed the Vermont House 75-65. Gov. Pete Shumlin, who acts as chairman of the Democratic Governors Association, has voiced strong support for the bill. If he signs it, Vermont will become the first eastern state permitting doctors and ill patients to choose a path to death through lethal medication.

Who will pay more under Obamacare? Young men
New York (CNNMoney) - The Obama administration says the Affordable Care Act will provide cheaper health insurance for millions of Americans.
But some people, particularly young men who aren't insured through their employers, could see their premiums go up once coverage in the state-based insurance exchanges begins in January.

CNN: Doctor found guilty of first-degree murder in Philadelphia abortion case
A Philadelphia abortion provider who killed babies by cutting their spinal cords with scissors was found guilty of first-degree murder on Monday. The conviction on three counts of first-degree murder means Dr. Kermit Gosnell, 72, could be sentenced to death. Assistant District Attorney Joanne Pescatore sobbed after the verdict in the high-profile case was announced. Gosnell appeared shocked. He let out a sigh and shook his head back and forth. Defense attorney Jack McMahon told CNN it's too soon to tell whether he will appeal the conviction.
CNN: Minnesota legislators vote for same-sex marriage
Minnesota is expected to join eleven states and the District of Columbia in legalizing same-sex marriage after the state Senate on Monday voted 37-30 in favor of approving it. Gov. Mark Dayton has said he would sign the bill. After the vote, he posted online, "Join us tomorrow as we make history on the Capitol steps." The bill follows a failed attempt last year to define marriage as between one man and one woman with an amendment to the state constitution. The state House approved the measure last Thursday.
