(CNN) - President Barack Obama will deliver a statement from the East Room at the White House on the situation involving the Internal Revenue Service at 6 p.m. ET, the White House announced Wednesday.
The president will discuss "IRS changes" when he makes his statement, a Democratic source told CNN Chief Congressional Correspondent Dana Bash.
Obama released a written statement Tuesday night, saying the findings of a report from the agency's inspector general are "intolerable and inexcusable."
The report found that the IRS used "inappropriate criteria" to identify potential political applications and then forwarded those applications to a team of specialists for review. The criteria resulted in substantial delays in processing of applications and the request of unnecessary information about the groups, according to the report.
lord help us all.... not another obama tv appearance. when will the suffering ever end?!
Obama has lost all credibility!
Can't believe a word the man says!
We can only hope he offers up his resignation and the country will be saved from another 3.5 years of this total incompetence.
has anyone noticed his hair is getting whiter by the day ? Whom ever the next person is in 2016, better think about the 400K per yr income and add to the fact that you will have secret service for life. Then you will need to ask yourself the Question : Is it Worth It ? (maybe it should be 800K per yr) for all the hassle(s)
Obama is the man. dont hate son
"when will the suffering ever end?"
-
When we crawl out from under the devastation caused by "you know who" and his band of warmongers, along
with the help of a Republican led House and Senate six years running.
Right now we are "suffering" from:
A continued decline in the deficit
Record highs in the stock market
A slowly, but surely, decline in unemployment
A soon to end to Afghanistan war
And, hopefully, a good riddance to the obstructionist Republican/Tea drinkers in the House and Senate, then
we can have real progress.
"We can only hope he offers up his resignation and the country will be saved from another 3.5 years of this total incompetence."
If your position is that Obama should resign so that the GOP/Teatrolls will stop throwing gov't obstruction temper tantrums, fabricating crises and inventing tinfoil hatted conspiracy investigations, then NO...their deliberate malfeasance and incompetence does not justify him resigning just so they'll behave. Know what it's called when someone says "we're going to do XYZ to damage you and everything else unless you give us what we want"? Extortion.
its all racism people are mad he took office and what other way to make his life a living hell is bring up all these lies against him.....its been happening for years.....hate and jealousy
this is a joke, THE republicans HAS been AFTER THIS president SINCE DAY ONE, they'll STOP AT NOTHING....AND we're wAtching .......
Curious as to why this one has anything to do with the President, but I'm sure some troll will inform me...
Why would anyone in a high position resign if it was only a couple of rouge employees?
Funny how most of these groups would champion the idea of profiling people for scrutiny who fit a given character trait. You know, like Muslims, black kids with hoodies, Hispanics driving to work, etc. And yet they, as people who never met a tax they liked, get their panties all up in a knot when they are investigated to see if they are paying their taxes. Obama should have owned it, with an in your face vengeance. "Yeah, we're checking them out. So what? They brought it on with their rhetoric." They are, after all, the Tea Party, aren't they? Does anyone even remember what the Boston Tea Party was all about? Duh.
I don't believe a word of what Obama or Hillary say's we need to get rid of the both of them
mr obama and his cabinet better know how to swim
