Obama speech to focus on drones, Gitmo
Washington (CNN) - From the targeted killing of Americans overseas to the future of the military prison at Guantanamo Bay, President Barack Obama will lay out the framework and legal rationale for his administration's counterterrorism policy in a widely anticipated speech on Thursday.
Administration officials tell CNN that Obama will use the National Defense University speech to continue to call on engagement with Congress on aspects of national security, more transparency in the use of drones, and a review of threats facing the United States.

GITMO is open because of Republican Congressional obstruction. The President of the United States has his goals, objectives & political promises constantly thwarted by the GOP for the sole purpose of opposing HIM; denying HIM. It is personal. Americans are ORDERS of MAGNITUDE safer than they were under No 43. [we lost about 3,000 US CITIZENs to terrorist attacks on Bush`s watch . . . more if you count soldiers. A tow Order of magnitude reduction would be 30 US citizens under Mr. Obama. He`s done even better than that. I trust his judgement on GITMO. He`s proven himself.
can u imagine that a drone ends up killing the Al -Kaida # 2 guy, I mean the guy with huge pimple in the middle of his forehead ? LOL – This would end the talliban & Al- Kaida organizations.
