'Mr. Spock' in IRS video apologizes for 'embarrassing' mistake

Washington (CNN) - An Internal Revenue Service official involved in a 2010 conference cited for wasteful spending said Thursday no rules were broken and no fraud occurred, though he acknowledged that "in hindsight," much of the spending should have been more closely monitored or never should have happened.

"It's embarrassing, and I apologize," said Faris Fink, the IRS official who portrayed the Mr. Spock character in a training video for the conference that parodied the television show "Star Trek."

Where are my gloves?!! This guy needs to be given a good slapping for insulting the American people and wasting their money. Then he needs to be fired and replaced with somebody that knows the meaning of the word RESPONSIBILITY.

Are you telling me with ALL the things going on in the country CNN has to print this?? How can such a large organization post something so insignificant. How about reminding Americans that we have separate budgets from the Congress, Senate, and President and NO ONE is in discussion to combine them into ONE... Or maybe you could find out why the government didn't have a problem loaning BIG banks money at 1% or less but they want to charge college students 4 to 7% or the loans to pay for the College Degrees they HAVE to earn while learning the HIGH TECH skills they say Americans LACK...or maybe you could write about... that for most of the history of this nation rebuilding the infrastructure is considered a WIN – WIN for the nation. And now in the last 5 years when interest is the lowest it has been in 40 years, the country has over 2 TRILLION dollars worth the work that needs to be done...NO ONE IS PUSHING IT!!! It is so SAD how small the minds of the MEDIA have become.......

  4. Liberal Sense (Or lack thereof)

And democrats what people to pay more. This among many other reasons is why many are against just that idea.

The IRS is obviously a very corrupt part of the federal government.

Someone had a talent for set design. I assume the costumes can be easily bought on line somewhere.

The lesson to be learned here, boys and girls, is that you should outsource your training videos, instead of creating them yourself. Taa Daa.

With over 2 million civil servants, this is bot the first time a few have used bad judgment, and sadly it won't be the last . Wait til we get our next Republican Pres. What W went thru was nothing compared to what's he's gonna get. Yes, paybacks are hell, but they need to be done.

We've given the repubs 5 years to stop, but they won't. They're making a pretty lumpy bed to have to lie in. And lie they will.
