If we're attacked again because of no intelligence reports then the haters/birthers would blame Obama of not being tough enough on terrorists.
I am also talking about about home grown bombers like mcveigh and any PlAnned Parenthood double bombers (first flash and then second for first responders) or shooters of doctors in churches. They are just terrorists like the Boston brothers or the 9/11 murderers.
Obama didn't even know what is actually going on. Didn't his advisors tell him what they're doing even? Ha ha.
Is Obama incompetent or calling the shots on all these scandals? Either one makes him not worthy of the office of the Presidency..

I fear we Americans have succumbed to a mentality of selfishness long ago. We do not subscribe to the reality of interdependence, of our connectedness to all. If we, or our immediate family and circle are not affected, we tend to ignore issues such as abuse of our rights. This has been going on since the beginning, to some extent. Ask the slaves, the American Indian, those that organized unions, the Mcarthy era and the blacklists,the civil rights leaders or the leaders of the anti war movement of the 60's. There are many more examples if one really studies American history. J. Edgar Hoover and his "files". Henry Ford kept track of his workers and their activities. We might not have agreed with the politics of many of these people or groups that were considered subversive, but in many cases, they were perfectly legal according to the constitution. Why did very few of us fight for their rights? Now, due to advances in technology, we are all included, affected and we don't like it. I know many of you will not agree with me, but I was angry for many years about this countries behavior, double standards, hypocrisies and it didn't seem like most folks cared. Now I'm just a tired old dog with little to no energy.You know the old adage, "You reap what you sow"! Peace

With this Administration actions, seems to me they want to make this Government look bad and were we are going along with it ?.
It is ironic that people will complain about invasion of their privacy at the same time they use social media network sites to publicize their real time behavior, thoughts, and personal data.

If I want to post all my stupid info that's my choice. I chose to not be a part of social media anymore, but when the government doe it to you where is your choice? We have been sliding into a soft tyranny for a long time now, and this administration is just speeding up the process. How long before we live under a hard tyranny?

Obama's campaign promises of transparency, end of war, closing Guantanamo, reduced terrorist threats with flags waving and people crying were very moving.
But in 2013: Um, let's just continue doing what we were doing under Bush with a few more bomb drones thrown in.
Yes, with the IRS, Justice Dept, and Democratic Senators targeting their political enemies I feel great that the "government will do the right thing".

the leftist obama regime has abused the laws as he has done with many others. this is what you get when you elect a far left ideologue that believes the ends justifies the means. laws are meaningless if the people in charge of enforcing them follow them to the letter. obama and holder simply cannot be trusted and are proving it every day.

What the NEW YORK TIMES and The Guardian did can be considered treason, they defy the government by leaking secret information related to government programs design to protect the integrity of this country. OK go ahead stupid people, why don't you pass all our secrets to AL Qaeda and you are relieve that finally our government is not holding secrets from us, but do not cry foul and blame the government if attacks occur in our cities. At least you will have your privacy.
Big Brother has always been alive and well . . . Even more so these days, because of technology and giving into the rich, greedy and the powerful, we the people are dead and done. 🙁
You might be narrow minded if you think; Google asks all your details, you give it away willingly and still you think they are a secret? If one have a secret never give it away. And why did you ask yourself at the first place, why do they want to know your details. You make a fool of yourself and later you come to blame others!!! Pathetic.
If citizens desire adequate national security, then privacy must be sacrificed for the good of all. I have nothing to hide, so therefore why should I fear surveillance for my own security? We live in times of great unrest with shootings, bombings, ricin attacks, etc. Not far from where we live, a youth planned to blow up a school. It can happen anywhere. Are we to behave complacently, yet react with outrage because someone in the government or law enforcement didn't act in time or was asleep at the switch? No, we can't have it all and not sacrifice for the good of all.
So we complain that the government is doing TOO MUCH to protect us from terrorism....
THEN
We complain when a terrorist act happens and say the Government DIDNT do enough to protect us.
But not a peep when the Patriot Act was passed?
Sorry folks but Google, Facebook, and ANYTHING internet already knows all they need to know about you...

Gurgyl upthread hit on a good point. Google knows far more about you than the government does. And yet we tolerate that, seemingly.
