(CNN) - NSA Director Keith Alexander is expected to reveal two terror plots that the agency will say were thwarted with the help of the recently disclosed secret surveillance programs, a congressional source tells CNN.
Alexander is expected to make the announcement at Tuesday House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence hearing.
Last week, Alexander said that these programs helped foil dozens of terror plots - but he offered no specific details.
Still, there is a debate within the intelligence community about what can be revealed to prove these programs work versus what should stay classified for fear of burning sources and methods.
Oh, why bother discussing it. If the polls are correct, the only people who care are those who want to make Obama look bad.
In any case, I'm sure Mr. Military Industrial Complex here can enumerate all kinds of trumped-up narratives of how all Americans being spied on all the time is a good thing.
I wonder if that clown Aqua Buddha (the esteemed senator form KY) is still planning to sue the government over this? What an embarrasement to the US Senate.
People wanted transparency and they demanded to have information regarding whether these programs are really accomplishing anything for all the money spent and the risks and issues they raise with respect to balancing of our rights versus our security. We will now hear the people screaming loudest for that information, i.e., the conservatives who never complained about it and even defended it when Bush was doing it, claim that providing this information is somehow politically motivated and a big fabrication. It'll be yet another example of Obama being d-mned if he does, d-mned if he doesn't as far as tantrum throwing conservatives are concerned.
CNN, if you would get those three curly-locks bimbos to shut up long enough, we might actually be able to hear what's being said. As for the majority of commentors here, geez, give me these guys sitting at this table anytime, rather than some of you wannabes. You don't have a clue to what's actually involved here.....if you don't. have a close connection to this world that you cannot, thank goodness control, then stop the stupid, ignorant criticisms of "conservatives". This is not about conservatives or liberals, but about all of us who live in a country that can still question it's leaders without fear of vanishing into the "unknown"!! Grow up out there.
Remember, do your own homework before posting a comment. Have your true facts so you wouldn't sound to stupid.
If you are worried about the NSA spying on you and listening to your phone conversations then GOOD. Your probably doing something stupid that needs to be stopped.
