First on CNN: Clinton opponents plan donor meeting in New York
Washington (CNN) - The movement to "Stop Hillary" is coming to Hillary Clinton's backyard.
America Rising, the political action committee chaired by Mitt Romney's former campaign manager, is organizing an "Inaugural Stop Hillary 2016 Luncheon" for Republican donors in Manhattan, CNN has learned.
The July 10 session will be hosted by Matt Rhoades, Romney's former campaign chief and the chairman of America Rising, according to a copy of the invitation obtained by CNN.
One New York finance source said the event might not attract some top-tier Republican donors who have friendly relationships with Clinton and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, from the philanthropic world. But this person predicted that reliable GOP donors should be intrigued nonetheless.
"This campaign that they started is a hook for people, it's a draw for people," the source said. "The only entity, other than the Republican Governors Association maybe, that is really focused on anybody running in 2016, or any of these governor's races, is America Rising. This will be a test to see who is going to show up and who is interested."

Along with the luncheon, emissaries from America Rising are also arranging one-on-one meetings with some of the city's leading GOP bundlers, a Republican source said.
The July fundraising swing represents the first step in formal outreach to the GOP money set for America Rising, an independent group that launched this spring with the purpose of tracking and collecting negative research on Democratic candidates – with a special focus on the Democrats eyeing a presidential bid in 2016.
The PAC is bringing on a finance director in July to help kick start its fundraising efforts.
Their anti-Clinton effort – StopHillary2016.org – launched last week, an initiative first reported by CNN. "America Rising was formed to prevent Americans from ever having to see another Clinton in the White House," the group said.
America Rising has a separate wing, America Rising LLC, that provides research, tracking video, and communications consulting to committees, PACs, campaigns and issue advocacy groups.
Two leading pro-Republican groups, Karl Rove's American Crossroads and David Bossie's Citizens United, have hired America Rising. The group also worked with two outside groups involved in the Massachusetts special Senate election and is dabbling in this year's Virginia governor's race.
Hillary has 2016 in the bag. Look at how scared they are.
She hasn't said for sure that she is running, and it is a number of years away. This is just silly, and a show that there needs to be less money in politics in every way. We need more people who feel they can afford to run so that all Americans can say that they are represented in every level of government.

If Mr. Matt Rhoades was unable to get Mitt Romney elected President of the United States against Mr. Obama, I seriously doubt this dude has it in him to stop Hillary Clinton ... should she decide to run.
I suspect, thought, that there are a great many fools who will be willing to "donate" to Mr. Rhoades and Mr. Rove, regardless of their track records thus far.
But, hey. It is a good "scoop" for CNN. Not QUITE breaking news ... but close.
Nothing is more likely to make Democrats, even those of us who wonder if a younger candidate might be better long-term, go to the barricades to defend Hillary than this kind of behavior.

There's probably many, many people who would make excellent elected officials who won't throw their hat into the ring because of some irrelevant indiscretion of one sort or another in their past that would prove too embarrassing or hurtful to their loved ones to make it worth it. Americans love their dirty laundry, dontcha know, and the "media" just loves to air it.
Note that Citizens United and Crossroads are funneling money to these people. Prepare to hear a lot from them in the coming years.
Conservatives are running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Why the panic? You've brought this upon yourselves republicans. And your attempts to surpress the vote is going to piss us off even more. We'll be coming to the poll in droves.
Democrats have to run an unhealthy, old, 60s progressive with baggage and no new ideas. They're acting like Republicans – "it's her turn." Good luck with that.

Here's what happens if she runs, and is elected to office. The nation gains back it's standing in the world as a leader. The economy improves to the point where unemployment is lower than it has been in the last 30 years. The emphasis on human rights and dignity start to supersede corporate greed. And last but not least, the chance to become a superpower with international poise and grace will become more important than being that of a peace keeper to the world.
