We will now have women leaving Texas to get abortions if they can afford it. If not welcome to the back alleys and coat hangers.

"Some men insist that women must bear children whether they want to or not because the child is really the husband's property. These men expect women, as chattel, to breed children as workers, to increase the Masters resources, be it farming or trade or craft."

    – Such men do not want their women to be allowed to prevent or terminate child property production. Texans are especially keen on this production even though it will lead to a Democrat Hispanic majority in eight more years or sooner.

That suits me just fine...Hasta luego mis amigos..ganamos en el Álamo

I understand the problem with the restrictions on abortion clinics since this bill was passed. I'm just wondering though – with the money Planned Parenthood has, can they not help these clinics upgrade if they're so passionate about women having access to clinics? This is just an honest question and I'd really like to know the answer. I know that if I were to ever have an abortion (which I wouldn't), I would want to be in a surgical center with a doctor who could admit me to the hospital if needed.
I wish our politicians could sit in a room and write a straightforward bill that would benefit everyone. It's sad that we've become so divided on so many issues.

Well, women who want women rights, since you do not believe the child in the womb is a life how about the child gets taken from the womb and placed into a test-tube for government experimenting....I do not think you would object to 9 months, or longer, of government testing....after-all, the child is not alive.

Every baby murdered is a unique, never to be replicated human being.

You can use any and every argument in the world but you abortion apologists will NEVER be able to make it right to kill a child.

Wonder why some many abortion clinics are in minority neighborhoods? Google the woman who laid the foundation for Planned ParentHood...Margaret Sanger.. She agreed with the cause of eugenics! '

oh please, the US in general agreed with the cause of eugenics. Heck the US still had various eugenics programs running in the 1970s. Her view point was nothing unusal for the time.

Why do people always think abortion stuff is infringing on womens rights???? How about the right of the unborn child they should have rights as well but guess you people against this think YOU come first???? 20 weeks in the child is developed, we're not talking about a couple cells. If you have medical issues thats one thing but ALOT of people get abortions after 20 weeks cause they don't want the hassle. By the way not getting pregnant is VERY easy, try keeping your legs closed. So when your dumb butt gets pregnant its YOUR fault and YOU should deal with it but instead you would rather say crap i can't handle this so lets kill this kid in me. Shame your parents did not have the same thought.

hope those texans are ready for a huge legal expenditure when this is soon subject to suit, placed in limbo via an injunction while matter pending before the courts, and ultimately a loss when it gets to the SCt.

and to all those legislators who thought this up and passed it, be prepared to pay those bills. maybe you would like to volunteer to [personally pay the bills for any medical care a young pregnant woman is forced to pay when she really would have liked an abortion? or maybe you would like to care for and adopt personally any child born after a woman is unable to have an abortion following a amnio wherein it is definitively determined the fetus has substantial genetic or other cause anomalies which will cause it to be severely handicapped, mentally and/or physically (like microcephaly or tay sachs or spina bifida or anacephalic?

if your religious beliefs are such that you think any killing is murder and is wrong, wrong, wrong, and you can impose these views on others who do not share them, why does your state champion the death penalty? why do you not ensure that every child born, no matter what their condition or financial status, has the very best in medical care and housing and nutrition???

Please Liberals stop your irrational droning on about Christians only wanting children till they're born then forgetting about them! There are thousands of couples waiting to adopt babies. They've been waiting for YEARS BECAUSE YOU KEEP MURDERING THEM. If women give up unwanted children for adoption at BIRTH – it would massively reduce the number of children in care. Or are you too stupid to see that?'

Absolute rubbish. People cant adopt because of too many abortions? what is this crap you are trying to spout? Say it like it is.....there are people ignoring the option to adopt kids once they get past a certain age. They make that choice, dont go blaming someone else with this nonsense.

Does science tell us that a fetus is human? Undeniably yes! Anyone who says it’s just a blob of cells is not dealing in rational thought or reality. So the next question is as a society do we think the all humans are equal? The answer is undeniably no! Past and current history shows us that. Women didn’t have the right to vote, blacks didn’t have the right to be free, and now human fetuses don’t have the right to live. Who has the right to blur that line that gives humans the right of personhood? What politician, judge, mother, father, or human gets to say you have the rights of a person and you do not? I always hear people say, “it’s the mothers right to choose!” Choose what?! I mean what are we talking about? So my answer is no. The mother does not have the right to choose if her infant should be able to live and enjoy the rights of personhood. There is nothing progressive about abortion and I hope and pray that those who fight for it realize that they are on the wrong side of the fight. Progressiveness is all inclusive and recognizing human dignity at all stages of life of all races of people.

Government should get out of our lives unless it comes to who we can marry, What diety should be represented on our money, what diety our children should learn about during pledge of allegence, what a pregnant woman should do with her reproductive rights, where the 10 commandments can be displayed, what NON scientific theory of creation should be taught in science......and the list can go on.....Republicans are not for SMALL government when it comes to the TSA, CIA or FBI or Military. Join the party of Hypocrites....the Tea Bagging Republithugs.

Whatever! If you can't find defects by 12 weeks the . It's meant to be. How ever brief that life may be it could be karma the are trying to live out. Don't get in the way by exacerbating issues by doing unnecessary saving or_killing. Even if the life is brief however brief those moments in this life are, its important to get through them with as much dignity as possible.

the stone ages? lol 20 weeks is hardly the stone age. I doubt they could have done abortions at 19 weeks in the stone age I have to admit though, that in the case of a baby being born into a life of suffering or in the case of rape, I think it should be allowed. god forgive me if I am wrong.

The majority of abortions are done for birth control. In most case, a little self-control would have prevented the pregnancy in the first place. Or, in lieu of self-control, there are dozens of methods of birth control. If you're afraid one will not work, try using more than one at a time! Less than 5% of abortions are performed because of rape, incest, or the life of the mother is in jeopardy. I heard that directly from the mouth of someone who owns and manages several women's clinics.

The effect of this is simple: A women who finds out at 20 weeks that her child is going to be born badly deformed or severely mentally handicapped will be forced by the state of Texas to bear her child. The government, not her, decide what her destiny in life will be. Mealy mouth, double talking Teapublicanism at it's most glaring.

Abortion is NOT a "healthcare choice". Abortion, as in abort a pregnancy, as in abort a baby, is a conscious decision to take one life in order to not inconvenience another life. This has nothing to do with "healthcare". It has to do with an irresponsible adult deciding that another must die to pay for their irresponsible behavior.
