I cannot wait until the day when people that perform abortions are tried for First Degree murder as they should be. Only reason to have abortion is to save the life of the mother provided that the chances of saving her life are greater than that of the baby surviving.

Women, in general, should have No Rights or any voice whatsoever when it concerns a baby that they are carrying and want to murder by abortion! Absolutely none. Why? Because the se xu al act is always and totally *preventable* and they well know that it is. They don't stop to think, however, that it is a baby that has a Right To Life, a proud extension of themselves and a gift from God! And if they want to abort then they should face Criminal Prosecution For Murder. There is just no other way to logically see this matter.

To those crazy people who like to say that it is a woman's body to do with as she pleases, including destroying her own body without governmental interference, try telling that to a court of law and see if she is not found guilty of abusing her own body and sentenced to time in prison for a possible suicide attempt. Thus, so much More should be the Penalties for women who commit abortion by cheerfully going on to Kill Their Unborn Baby! Great Shame To Them! They Are Monsters!

  5. Let's think about this rationally, not emotionally

@The Oracle, who taught you to play the odds? Millions of children that will probably go into adoption, not be adopted, then become a burden on the state and therefore you and your taxes, before making their way into our penal system, in the hopes that ONE of them will cure cancer. Well planned.

You should buy a lotto ticket while you're at it.

  7. abortion reality

I saw an interview with a black woman that had gone to Kermit Gosnell's abortion clinic for something like 14 abortions over an 8 year time period. The number was shocking. Somebody was paying for all those abortions and it didn't sound like she was. Gosnell got rich off of doing these types of repeated abortions. Killing babies is big business in America. Just ask Planned Parenthood how much money they make from killing babies. Many, many millions.

To Oracle: you think every aborted baby was destined for greatness? I think the unwanted are unwanted all their lives. They grow up unloved, not knowing who their fathers are. They live in poverty, they go hungry, they grow up to be bitter, violent. They get sub-par educations. They have unwanted babies of their own. The cycle goes on and on. You object to abortion, and then you object to the welfare state. Maybe your thing is to sit on your porch and watch babies and children starve and die in the streets because (a) they weren't aborted by mothers who never wanted them, and (b) you refuse to allow the state to provide a subsistence for them. Pay attention to your own family and your own affairs, and leave the affairs of desperate women to them. It's none of your business what they do.

  9. Close Them Down

It's high time to Close Down ALL Abortion Clinics! God obviously does not need or want them and neither do we! They are the playground of the devil and should all be Closed in a heartbeat, a heartbeat which they would gleefully deny to an unborn baby. Shame On Them! They don't need to be doing this type of heinous work. Support Texas HB 2! With God's help, this important Pro-Life bill will pass very soon and be signed by Gov. Perry!

I am pleased to inform the citizens of the world that the person destined to be the next Hitler has been aborted by his mother. Humanity will live in peace and harmony for this.

The Texas bill forces women to bear the child of their rapist.

No exception for rape or incest.

This is what you get when Republicans run things.

Hey Big Bird....France ALSO has single payer health care and free birth control, and unfettered access to early abortions...none of the waiting periods, forced unnecessary medical tests, or religious counseling requirements like the GOP is forcing here.

I regret to inform The Oracle that the person that is destined to cure cancer will, by definition, not be aborted.

50% of all human conceptions end in spontaneous abortion, usually without a woman even realizing that she was pregnant. In fact, 20% of all recognized pregnancies end in miscarriage. There is an obvious truth here that cries out for acknowledgment: if God exists, He is the most prolific abortionist of all.

    All Life Is Precious

Every baby murdered is a unique, never to be replicated human being.

You can use any and every argument in the world but you abortion apologists will NEVER be able to make it right to kill a child.

How come you completely forget about fetuses (which aren't babies) once they are born? The US has the highest infant mortality in the industrial world. Why don't you concentrate on something useful, like reducing that!

I wish these people who are so concerned with a fetus would show equal concern once the fetus actually is born. Many of these people around the country are the first to call for cuts in education and health services for children.

I regret to inform the citizens of the world that the person who was destined to cure cancer was raised by an abusive single mother who didn't want him, and he became a mass murderer instead. (This is just as likely as the scenario suggested by The Oracle). I personally think that it is more immoral to give birth to an unwanted child and mistreat him/her than it is to have an abortion. I do, however, understand why other people might have the opposite opinion. And that's why abortion should left up to the individuals involved to decide.

@Oracle/Orifice: And what of the MILLIONS of other unwanted, orphan children certain to be a burden on all? And you want to cure cancer, the thing of nature that keeps the population in check? Sure, let's cure all diseases, so everyone decays away in a convalescent warehouse only to die lonely, miserable deaths. "Oracle"? Hardly. "Orifice" is more like it.

  25. Nonsense

This bill isn't about "protecting" anyone; it is about scoring political points. The pseudoscience is paper-thin, and this is CLEARLY an attempt to circumvent the Constitutional right for a woman to choose to have an abortion. The legislator who speaks of supporting this bill to protect his baby is an idiot - it's like arguing that denying gays the right to marry is necessary in order to protect our heterosexual marriages. These laws won't stand the test of time, and the people who advocate for them well know this, so the only thing to gain is the favor of constituents who still believe in fairies.
