That insures that Texas will be off of my vacation list. I will also endeavor to not purchase anything from a company in Texas. Already cheered against all Texas athletic teams"

Okay 1: what on earth are you doing during your vacations? Thats a little extreme on the vacation side if you have to plan around abortion access. 2: Yes obviously it was Chuck E Cheese, Gamestop and JCPenny that caused this bill to be created/pass, it is totally not crazy for you to place your hatred towards them, totally not crazy. 3: Texas athletic teams??? That is a cheer I want to hear at a game. 2,4,6,8 I dont approve of Texas Legislation...

I hope that SCOTUS strikes down all these ridiculous GOP state laws that are designed to be nothing more than an end-run around Roe v. Wade.

There is not one shred of medical evidence that suggests any of these onerous multi-million dollar medical facility enhancements are the least bit necessary.

No abortions after SIX MONTHS, people. If you don't know by 6 months if you want the baby or not, what's another 3 months of your life and giving the baby up for adoption, as opposed to killing an unborn child? (Because at that point, it has a heartbeat and can feel pain – it's alive)

How about all you people screaming about women losing your right to choose, what about the child's right to life?! How do your rights superceed a child's?

I am happily married. Already a mother of two. And thrilled to be pregnant with twins. But at 16 weeks we discovered one of the fetuses had significant abnormalities. The other twin was healthy. So began a quest of specialist consults – anything and everything available to us to figure out a positive outcome. We wanted this pregnancy. We wanted two more children. But to save our healthy twin from being born 10+ weeks early (all specialists agreed this would be the case) we terminated the twin with no viable life. With the ruling today I presume I would not have been able to make this decision – and my healthy boy, born at full term, would have had a tragically different start to his life.
    -------
My heartfelt condolences to you on your tragic loss. The law passed in Texas clearly states that fetal abnormalities are exempted, as well as rape, incest, or when the mother's life is in jeopardy.

  8. what about the female babies killed rights

all of you claiming to fight for women's rights seem to forget that half the babies killed through abortion are women. What about their rights. Funny how truly malicious people justify their erroneous behavior behind women's rights! Beyond religion science proves unequivocally that the baby is its own life from conception through death. I'm sorry that humans are an inconvenience for many of you, really simple.... Be responsible and take birth control if you don't want kids.. Hmmmm personal accountability, something else the left doesn't comprehend

I was just about to give up looking for any sanity in this discussion thread until I read I AM's response. This is the right answer to this question. The only person who knows the facts of a situation involving a pregnancy is the woman who is faced with it. No other person or persons or the state should impose their will on this person no matter how well meaning. To call a person undergoing an abortion immoral is to impose your morality on another person without the benefit of knowledge of the situation. We see in China the extent the state will go when given (or assuming) the right to control the productive rights of a woman. Is that what we want? I can only speak for myself but I strongly oppose any state control over the reproductive rights of women as a fundamental conservative value of minimal government control in our lives.

i'm sorry but I do not consider a fetus viable on its own outside the mother's body. No way it can fend for it self.

Tell you what, Jeff... we'll take you off terra firma and throw you into the ocean and see how long YOU survive outside of that which sustains YOU. Deal?

the rightwing is hopelessly compromised on abortion unless they also prohibit fertility clinics which routinely destroy embyros as PERSONAL PROPERTY and prohibit end-of-life geriatric decisions taken by families and doctors.

Big government telling woman what to do with their bodies.

You almost sound concerned. That is EXACTLY what Roe V. Wade did. Telling women what they could do with another person's (developing ) body!

I’ve noticed that everybody that is for abortion has already been born.

Watch for abortion clinics to open along the Texas/Arkansas border. Texarkana, AR will be a destination for many women needing their services.

You are not too bright. A baby which is born cannot survive on its own either. Are you therefore proposing that women be allowed to murder their children until the child is old enough to "fend for itself"??? Yikes, you leftists are shockingly ignorant of the real world.

"No abortions after SIX MONTHS, people."

20 weeks is only about 4.5 months. And no, you're not allowed to use GOP math for this.

    "Excellent. Glad it passed."

You like that TX taxpayers will now be forced to spend millions of dollars defending a lawsuit that the idiots who legislated this will undoubtedly LOSE? Have fun with that.

The right thing to do... Newsflash: 20 weeks is not = to 6 months. There are 4.33 weeks in one month. 20 weeks = 4.6 months. Often you do not realize you are pregnant until you could be close to 2 months. If you are dealing with having been raped – I cannot even imagine the state of mind you would be in to then discover you have been impregnated by your rapist. Any woman who is pregnant by rape should be able to make the decision to terminate. As to Sopie Meyer – you hit the nail on the head. A co-worker of mine just suffered her 2nd miscarriage within one year. She was past 20 weeks and had to have a D&C because she did not naturally discharge. I cannot imagine her not being able to have that procedure.

It is true that so many protect the unborn child and turn their back on them once they are born into a family that cannot afford to raise them. And forget about educating all the children in this country. Republicans only care about the privileged few. Why would they take the stance of other countries – educating children is an investment in the future. That is why many Asian countries are growing economically, industrially and technically while we decline.

Should abortion be used a birth control? No. Do people really use abortion as birth control? No. Doesn't matter anyway because short sighted conservatives are against birth control anyway – but they totally support Viagra!

Oh... yes, I am a registered Republican. Sadly I have had few candidates worthy of my vote in recent years.

  22. Equal Rights, Unequal Lefts

Make abortions a purely elective surgery and incapable of being covered by insurance unless approved by another, real doctor (I'll grant, thats my opinion of abortion doctors... anyone whose purpose is to end or negate a life rather than save it isn't a doctor). Since it seems that people are dead set on being ridiculous and avoiding accountability for their actions, the law can at least hit them in their wallets for their failures.

These extreme right wing, religious fanatic, Conservative, Republican, hypocritical, anti-choice whack jobs are so opposed to abortion because they know that if their mothers could go back and do it all over again, they would have aborted these losers. They're always trying to force their deviant views and lifestyle on the rest of us normal people. They love telling other people how to live their lives, while their own lives are complete disasters. So here's the solution to your mental disorder: if you don't like abortion, don't have one. Otherwise keep your mouths shut and don't try to tell another woman what she can and can't do with her own body. Problem solved.

I am tired of women who say that abortion after 4 months is wrong. If you don't want a baby make sure you don't get pregnant. There are to many birth control methods out there. If you are in a situation where there was a rape, go get the morning after pill or whatever they call it now and make sure you don't get pregnant. No need to wait until your 4 months to get one. They now do testing for genetic disorders before your or right on your 20th week. You can still get an abortion if you don't like the results. Right to chose my A.. You have a right to chose responsibility for yourself.

Yes values, just like that Dr. in Phili. that did late stage abortions and snipped the baby's spinal cord with a pair of scissors to kill it. You bunch of idiots. Animals on four legs don't even do that to their unborn!
