U.S. House approves farm bill without food stamp aid

Washington (CNN) - The U.S. House approved revised legislation on Thursday to overhaul the nation's farm programs - one that doesn't include an extension of food stamps.

The farm bill vote in the Republican-controlled chamber fell along party lines, 216-208, and the next step would be joint House-Senate negotiations to hammer out a compromise version.

Did they vote to repeal Obamacare while they were at it? It's been almost a week. What's the point of voting for bills that have zero chance of passing?

"Normally, the farm bill covers agriculture programs and subsidies as well as food stamps, which account for much of the legislation's cost.

Normally our congressional representatives would care about those of us who eat ... as well as those who grow the food we as a human race are required to eat. Lately, though, it has become "what the hell ... let them eat cake". As it is, what I have been offered at my local food stores is hardly worth eating to begin with. I suspect all the hunger in the country means very little to those who ... well, you get where I'm going with this.

Let's save a few billion for the Fed Gov, and more billions for consumers, and end ALL subsidies and mandates for Ethanol.

If there's a bright spot in this story, it's the fact that many of those on food stamps are poor, uneducated whites, who reside in red states, and vote unwittingly Republican. Maybe when they feel the direct impact of their bad voting decisions, they'll stop enabling the GOP domestic terrorists whom they blindly vote for.

The GOP loves welfare programs. Look how much they give away to corporations, to the very wealthy, to big oil, to the farm industry, and the biggest welfare queens of them all, the GOP themselves, who get full pay and benefits for not doing a damn thing.

I'll rephrase, so maybe CNN will post this:

Per the Repub-controlled House, if you're a corporation, we've got your back.

If you're a child born into a low-income household where both parents work at low-paying jobs or their jobs were outsourced overseas or they were laid-off by Americans willing to hire illegals so they don't have to pay them living-wage jobs: Screw you.

Ah, the pro-life, Christian right at it's finest! Now, let's see, what would Jesus say? Wait, no need to wonder, because here it is:

Matthew 25:40 "Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me."

Special place in Hades for these Repubs, special place, indeed ...
