Democrats highlight IRS targeting of liberals, slam probe
Washington (CNN) - Congressional Democrats revealed new documents on Friday indicating the Internal Revenue Service subjected both liberal and conservative organizations to additional tax scrutiny in recent years, raising new questions about assertions of unfair politically based targeting.
Maryland Rep. Elijah Cummings, the top Democrat on the House committee investigating the matter, asked his GOP counterpart to summon the Treasury Department's chief investigator, J. Russell George, to a panel hearing scheduled for next Thursday.

There is no way Issa will bring George back to testify that liberals and progressive groups were also targeted, remember Isaa was only picking the talking points that he wanted the public to hear about the tea party. Issa was trying to get a rise out of the tea party base to help his party.

This should make the GOP Wild-eyed Right happy. I remember that radicals, usually Democrats, were subject to all kinds of scrutiny by the GOP, looking for something, anything, to discredit the Liberal movement. Funny how they howled like they were undergoing surgery without being put to sleep when it happened to them.
Funny how the GOP howled like stuck pigs when the IRS got after them. Don't you know that the IRS watches everyone. Liberal groups have also been targeted. I'll bet the right wasn't outraged about that!

total bs and a democrat smoke screen. how many liberal and progressive groups were actually denied a determination by the irs for 2-3 years? zero. that is the scandal, not just that they were targetted but that they were also harrassed abd denied a timely ruling on their application.

The charge that Liberal's and Progressaves, (Mafia) were also targeted came late to the Party. The Federal Government has no business in collecting and disbursing money in most cases. But as long as the Inmates are running the Asylum, you can expect more smoke and mirrors from the left. The Federal Government is too big. Much needs to be returned to the States.

Wait!! Could it be that the IRS was just scrutinizing political groups (many of them conservative) that applied for 501c4 status, because 501c4 is supposed to be for social welfare groups?
