Bachmann wants to 'spank' Obama

(CNN) – She tried to run against President Barack Obama as last year's GOP nominee.

But with that dream dashed, Rep. Michele Bachmann has another idea.

"He has a perpetual magic wand, and nobody's given him a spanking yet and taken it out of his hand," the Minnesota Republican told WorldNetDaily. "That's what Congress needs to do. The way we spank the president is we do it through the checkbook."

She was speaking to the conservative website about the ongoing battle over comprehensive immigration reform. The "magic wand" she refers to is the power to implement executive actions, like the one taken by Obama last year to defer deportations of young undocumented immigrants who were brought here by their parents.

A bipartisan immigration reform bill passed the Senate last month that included a pathway to citizenship, which many Republicans, including Bachmann, regard as "amnesty."

As the push for immigration reform slows in the House, Bachmann warned fellow opponents of a pathway to citizenship that resistance in the lower chamber may not hold up under pressure from GOP leaders who she said were sold on an "amnesty bill."

"The only game in town is legalization, for President Obama and for Senate Democrats. They want that legalization status," Bachmann, who will not run for re-election in 2014, said.

She suggested using Congress' ability to allocate funds to reject Obama's priorities, including the Affordable Care Act.

"We have the power of the purse," she said. "The most powerful body in Washington D.C. is the House of Representatives, which I'm honored to be a part. We're the ones that say, 'No, you can't have the money.' What's wrong with us? What is wrong with us that we would give the president ten cents to fund Obamacare?"

Typical inflammatory CNN headline. I might as well be reading a comic book.

This lady is why we as a country can not move forward with her biases and disrepect for the President and the office of the President.

This country is in a turmoil because of the hatred that exist that is generational. The people that took to the streets after the verdict were younger and of all races they do not see color they see right and wrong.

For someone to make a statement that there will never be another black President in the next century just reinforces what is happening in the United States.

    This is a sad day

He won Michele. Twice. A majority of Americans voted for him and his policies. Twice. You don't have to like it...but you need to accept it.

"A Swedish sociology professor has nominated Edward Snowden for the Nobel Peace Prize. He says the NSA whistleblower could help “save the prize from the disrepute incurred by the hasty and ill-conceived decision” to give the 2009 award to Barack Obama."

The reason why the President has such powers, to which Congresswoman Bauchman to end, is because unfortunately, from time to time we have nut cases like Congresswoman Bauchman. I love it when CNN says she is factually challenged. Actually, she does not care if what she says is factual or not. In my world we call that person a liar.

Wow, the martin family is already making money off their son's death. One million plus from home owners association. How much does Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson get. So much for mourning. Obama and trayvon could have been my son.

Ah Michelle, why must you continue to cover your eyes and ignore the fact that you have become a public joke? Please, please start thinking before you speak. To Jason...please give the American public more credit. Skin color (and gender) is immaterial when it comes to the best person for the job. We are not all mindless idiots as some like to think!

CNN should be embarrassed for putting this article on line. This is not the work of a respectable news organization.

All of the work women have accomplished for them in the last 50 years is wiped off the slate when this woman appears.

She is correct in her arguments. I wish there were more like her. She has more courage and common sense than most men in Congress.

Bachmann needs a large sock or something in her mouth to make her incapable of uttering another word. As with Palin, those two need to be put on a leaky boat, shoved out into the middle of the ocean and left there with no means of returning to land.

BTW do you think that Michelle used some of her campaign donations to bring her hair kicking and screaming into the new century?
Well don't get angry at me. It appears that she's used her campaign donations for other unsuitable purposes currently under investigation.
    I was just asking...

She's become a running joke now, it's a real disgrace. Crazy eye jesus lady is gonna keep trying to stay relevant just like her soul buddy Palin. It's inslting to real women in politics. Obama has been downgraded in the liberals minds because he has swung to the center too far (even to the right on issues of intelligence). Michelle's arguments about a socialist/communist racist angry black man running the country are truly pathetic. If people want to protest about racism in USA today- go protest a Republican fundraiser.
