‘Stop Hillary’ group ramps up anti-Clinton efforts

Washington (CNN) - Hillary Clinton may or may not run for president in 2016, but the conservative effort to derail her potential candidacy is already underway.

Iowa poll: Who wins a Clinton-Christie 2016 showdown?

The organizers behind Stop Hillary PAC, a political action committee quietly incorporated in May, are stepping into public view this week as they ramp up their efforts to harangue Clinton as she mulls over her political future.

On Monday, the PAC is announcing its leadership team, steered by Ted Harvey, a conservative Colorado state senator who was a vocal opponent of the recent gun control laws passed in the state.

Also coming on board are Garrett Marquis, a media strategist and alumnus of John McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign; Alex Shively, a former aide to Georgia Rep. Tom Price; Jacob Leis, a Colorado-based political strategist; and Dan Backer, a Washington attorney and lobbyist.

Those aren’t the most prominent names in Republican politics, but according to Marquis, that’s just fine. The PAC and its messaging are designed to appeal to grassroots conservatives and low dollar contributors, not traditional big donors.

Put another way, the group wants to be a boisterous party-crasher as the 2016 campaign gets underway, ginning up controversy and online contributions with barbed attacks against Clinton. To start, the PAC is releasing a video later this week “that will get a lot of attention,” Marquis promised.

Former top Obama campaign aides to advise Clinton effort

The organization’s plans to “Stop Hillary” are admittedly scattershot in these early stages of the race. Their portfolio could include “bracketing” events at Clinton appearances around the country, or local TV and radio ads, or social media efforts. If Clinton does decide to run for office, the PAC will be in Iowa and New Hampshire and South Carolina waiting for her.

The point, Marquis said, is “to make noise” wherever Clinton goes.

“We’re supporting anything that is the opposite of Hillary,” he said. “We will play however needed, wherever Hillary is playing. If she endorses in the Virginia governor’s race, we will go there. Assuming she is active in Iowa, we will be there, too, and we will make some considerable noise.”

Clinton opponents plan donor meeting in New York

The group is separate from “Stop Hillary 2016,” a project initiated last month by America Rising, a new opposition research outfit helmed by former Mitt Romney campaign manager Matt Rhoades and a pair of former Republican National Committee officials.

This group hires the media strategist of McCain's failed campaign. Kinda like hiring the captain of the Titanic to sail you through the Atlantic.

""the conservative effort to derail her potential candidacy is already underway""
Answer : That's why she needs to get on the horn to 'ol warren buffett & carlos slim – if she don't get at the very least 1 Billion (with a B) she'd better forget it . . . and another thing that may help her . . . would be if a survey was taken in the state of ohio . . . that's the state ( Florida, also) that will be the crosshairs, (so to speak) as far as getting elected, in 2016

I'm guessing there are a lot of dems who want to be President that are also working their "Stop Hillary" strategies. Or is Hillary just going to be anointed by the DNC?

America cannot survive another term of Clinton's, Bush's, or Obama's lack of proper leadership. We need new blood in Washington DC that can actually be honest, have the ability to cross political lines, and get things done FOR Americans instead of against the majority of Americans.

Typical GOP attacks. They NEVER tell us what they will do when elected, they just attack the other person. Because of their negative attacks, I hope Hilliary runs and wins big. Getting real tired of this GOP party that has nothing to offer but "negativity" and voting "NO" on everything. How about working on actual issues?

Republicans have nothing. When Jindal said that they have to stop being the party of stupid, they didn't take the hint. This is all you got? What do they stand for, no gun restrictions, no abortions, (which is ironic since they don't want gun restrictions) pro- corporations getting pork and away with whatever they want, chopping away at any government assistance for the needy, including vets who were injured in wars they agreed to and made Haliburton (Cheney's company very, very wealthy) low taxes for the rich (the 'job makers', yeah if you are a landscaper or make luxury goods in Europe). So what does that add up to: A few demagogues representing the uber rich. Yuk. Anyone who is not in the top 1% is a fool for voting GOP, and even the 1%ers are fools. Anyone voting GOP should visit a Latin American country and see where they want to take the US. Consider going to the hospital there, sending your child to school there, making a living there. That's where they want to go, 1% rich, 99% poor.

I guess the IRS should expect to see thsi group's 501(c)(4) application soon. They are not political or anything like all of the tea party applications.

“We’re supporting anything that is the opposite of Hillary ... and we will make some considerable noise.” ”

Sheesh. So, if she shows up to funeral to pay respects, this group is going to disrupt the funeral? I'm guessing they won't actually do that which would mean that they aren't telling the truth.

So, either this group is willing to interfere with a funeral or they aren't telling the trust. Sigh.

I just do not understand those who spout off the negatives of the Democrats while failing to even notice the negatives of the GOP.
The GOP got us into this mess in the first place with all the conflicts they started being in parts of the world where our young men and women lost their lives and the population of those countries hate us.
After the Clinton Era, we had a balanced budget finally and the economics looked good.
    Then the GOP took over.
We need Congress to pay back the funds that were 'borrowed' from Social Security. Not privatize it like the GOP wants to do.

In all seriousness here, why would she even be considered for president o the United States? With all the scandals that she has attached to her and the lack of leadership she has does not qualify her as president. Lets look at the current person occupying the White House, very little leadership but was elected two times. The next elections, president, senate, and congress we as a nation need to take a serious look at who we elect, our nation is on the brink of collapse and we need strong, no holds bared leadership to bring this country back to its true glory!

"The point, Marquis said, is “to make noise” wherever Clinton goes."

So like with the fake "angry mob" that stopped the Florida recount, or like with all those protesters at Health Care town halls, it seems that yelling at the top of your lungs has become an accepting GOP debate "strategy".

Billy Dale and the White House Travel Office scandal, Vince Foster, Cattlegate, Rose Law Firm scandal, "Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy", Bill's philandering, Jim McDougal's sudden death in prison, ad infinitum, ad nauseam. Well, Stop Hillary PAC, there is a starting list of issues to bring up in the press. You probably have a lot more. Gor for it- and good luck!

The more these idiots try to derail Hillaries future, the more her supporters will help her. I am one of them and will make darn sure that Hillary is being made President of the US should she decide to run. So, go, and waste your good money, it will just do the opposite. Well, at least you morones are helping the oeconomy 😉

It's so telling how Republicans are always against something, but never for something. It's always "Stop this" or "Stop that" only because Democrats or for it, yet we here nothing from them as far as what is good for the country, only what is good for the Republican party.
