Weiner says he has no response to Sydney Leathers

(CNN) – In a somewhat confrontational press conference Friday, Anthony Weiner did not answer questions about the 23-year-old Indiana native who came forward this week with racy messages that she and Weiner exchanged online last summer.

The New York City mayoral candidate also indicated he may stop answering questions all together about his online relationships with women following his 2011 resignation from Congress.

"There's going to reach a point fairly soon that I'm going to say I think I've said enough about it, and I'm going to keep just talking about other things," he told reporters in Staten Island.

Asked if he had anything to say about Sydney Leathers, who said in a television interview Thursday that she felt "manipulated" by Weiner, the former congressman had nothing to add.

"I have no response to any people who put out information that they want to put out. It's their decision. I'm certainly not going to do it. I don't have any response to that," he said. Weiner also shot down questions about whether he had recent contact with Leathers. "That's absolutely not true. Never did in anyway."

Leathers is one of the "few" women that Weiner estimates he sexted with after leaving Congress for the same problem. He reiterated Friday that some of these women may still go public.

"Things that I did were wrong. They were hurtful to my wife. I compounded it enormously by misleading about it after. But when I got in this race, all of this was in the past and it's staying in the past. That doesn't mean more people won't want to come out and talk about it," he said.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi also had harsh words to say about Weiner on Thursday, describing his actions as "reprehensible" and urging him to "get a clue." Fellow Democratic Rep. Jerry Nadler, who represents part of Manhattan, told reporters on Capitol Hill that Weiner is a "serial liar" and someone who "has shown monumentally bad judgment" and "needs serious psychiatric help."

The candidate admitted Friday that he had "embarrassed (his) colleagues with this."

"I got to prove to them-Nancy Pelosi, she's not going to have a chance to vote for me," he simply said. "I hope to win Jerry Nadler's vote in this election."

Saying he felt like there was an "echo chamber" at the press conference, Weiner seemed to grow irritated by the repeated questioning about his scandal.

"You surround me by cameras and then say hey, what it's it like to be surrounded by cameras? I'm glad you're here. I understand you're doing your job. I'm trying to do mine. And mine is to communicate to the people of this city that I want to be a fighter for the middle class," he said.

Ashley: I think you mean "altogether," not "all together." Too quite different meanings

What is the big deal it is not like he had an affair with a patient or took off to South America with his mistress or cheated on his wife while going through chemotherapy

He should have said it's better to know me and not need me , then to need me and not know me .

When a politician can no longer spin a lie , it's over.

At some point, Weiner needs to let good sense prevail and simply shut up (AND get rid of his 'smart' phone).
