San Diego Mayor Filner wants city to pay legal fees in sexual harassment battle
(CNN) - San Diego Mayor Bob Filner, who's battling a tide of sexual harassment allegations, wants his city to cover his legal expenses.
Last week, Filner's lawyer sent a letter to the city, saying it should mount the mayor's defense and pay his legal bills.

What? The dirty old man wants the tax payers to pay for his indiscretions?
Maybe now will be a good time for the city to not let him back ever again! What a dirty old creep.
If the mayor himself is being sued, then he should pay his own legal fees. If the city itself is being sued, then the city should pay its' own legal fees and sue the mayor for reimbursement when it is all said and done.
Dude go away! You have the audacity to think the taxpayers should pay for your legal fees because of you being a freakish pervert? He needs to be forced to resign immediately. This ish is becoming ridiculous.
Why not? They elected the perverted dirtbag, they should get all the goodies that come with him.
You know what? Suddenly it all just clicked into place, as to why Filner won't resign. If he resigns, then he has no chance of the city picking up his legal fees, which are sure to bankrupt him. As long as he's mayor, he might get taxpayers to pay for his legal fees.
Just recall the bum, and get him out.
The same thing happened here in Tampa with a city councilman. Councilman White was found guilty of sexually harrassing an assistant yet the City of Tampa had to pay his leagal fees because he was acting as a councilman on an official trip when he harrassed the assistant.
So sorry San Diego
