Obama to nominate restructuring specialist to head IRS

Washington (CNN) - President Barack Obama announced on Thursday that he will nominate John Koskinen, a veteran of both public service and the private sector, to take over the embattled Internal Revenue Service.

A blog post on the White House website described Koskinen, who recently turned 74, as "a retired corporate restructuring expert" who would become commissioner of the IRS upon confirmation by the Senate.

If Obama is appointing him it is for one reason and one reason only. To block any and all information from getting out and to conceal any wrongdoing. All this administration has done for 4.5 years is to lie and stonewall.

A restructuring specialist? That's the last thing the GOPers/Teatrolls want: a fixed, effective and efficient IRS. Gov't needs to stay broken as much as possible, so they can keep saying "see, it's broken."

But I thought that the IRS didn't do anything wrong and properly targeted groups. Interesting. I keep hearing from all of the liberals here how the IRS is fine and didn't do anything wrong so why do we need restructuring?

And yes, Sniffit, in a perfect world we wouldn't need the IRS, especially with the size, scope and power in wields right now. Just another reason for a fair or flat tax.
