Washington (CNN) - Nearly a year later, Benghazi remains a flashpoint in Washington for two very different reasons: indefensible pre-attack policy decisions and irresistible post-attack politics.
The Obama White House, from the president on down, complains of "phony" Republican-led congressional investigations. Yet the administration's own reluctant, and at times inaccurate, responses to congressional inquiries have contributed to the GOP charge that the administration, at a minimum, has been less than transparent.
FULL STORY
This should have and would have been over and dune with if the administration would just give over the information needed. There were mistakes made and lies told. Stonewalling will not make it go away and only makes those involved look more guilty.
Benghazie, was a CIA deal. The GOP wants to keep this going, to have to do their job. GOP stupidty again just another day.
The Obama Administration should have continued the tradition of the previous administration and refused to answer ANY questions, and accused the car thief and his crew of treason,Anti-Americanism, not supporting the troops, giving aid to the "terrists", etc. etc, etc. wash, rinse, repeat ad nauseum.
I do not practically give darn hoot at Benghazi–it is a rant by GOP thugs, now we are after Yemen–DRONES, GETTING Al Queda. John King stop this old prank.
"Also undermining the GOP effort: fund-raising e-mails and videos from Republican and conservative groups asserting a Benghazi cover up orchestrated by President Barack Obama and then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton."
As well as an entire media industry that is more than willing to drum up faux anger for viewer participation, viewer delight, campaign ad revenue, and oh ... a whole host of other income incentives. John King included.
There is a huge cover up of the Benghazi incident.......including monthly lie detector monitoring of survivors, who are sworn to secrecy.
I suspect the survivors have their very lives threatened, if they talk.
The lack of transparency isn't the issue. The issue is the GOP witch hunt for those magic words that will implicate Hillary. You cannot ignore the fact that several of these types of attacks and deaths have occurred several times and the GOP was not interested in investigating. Obviously because the Secretary of State at the time was not being considered a potential death blow to their agenda.
Under GW Bush:
1. 12 attacks on Embassies/Consulates resulting in 60 deaths
2. 2006 – Diplomat David Foy killed in attack on Karachi – why "does this matter"? It was the third attack.
Yet, no investigation by the Repubicans. But, of course, Bush is a Republican.
This is a witch hunt and there is no getting around it.
All I know is this. Sen. McCain made a surprise trip to Libya during their "Arab Spring". He visited the rebel stronghold city of Benghazi, where he met with rebels. I remember seeing a TV interview with him on the ground in Benghazi. As usual he was arguing that the U.S. should arm the rebels, but the Obama administration would not do it.
Wind the clock forward to September, 2012. The U.S. consulate is attacked. I cannot help but wonder if any of the folks that McCain had met with previously were involved.
I'm not going to bother reading the musings of John King. Benghazi "matters" only as a media story for 2016 as it relates to Hillary Clinton. Adds a little drama to what will otherwise be an easy Democratic victory.
Presumably King talks about how ABC News fabricated most of the "inaccurate" talking points?
Wait a minute. I thought Obama killed bin Laden with his bare hands and al Qaeda was "on the run".
Now we see al Qaeda affiliates staging massive jail breaks in Pakistan, Iraq and Libya. American diplomatic missions are having to close in fear of al Qaeda attacks.
Obama's anti-terror campaign does not appear to be working.
????

Only on faux noise and reichwing blogs do those scenarios even see the light of day. President Obama never took the credit for PERSONALLY killing OBL. However, the previous occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue claimed for years that HIS ADMINISTRATION had AQ on the run. Considering your ilk's inability to deal with the facts combined with your proclivity for projection, it's not surprising tho'.
CNN....Do you really find it necessary to demonstrate fair and balanced coverage by having John King, correspondent from Fox News, serve as one of your leading political analysts?
