(CNN) - President Barack Obama this week cancelled his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, following Russia's decision to grant temporary asylum to Edward Snowden, who has admitted leaking secrets about U.S. national security surveillance.
The administration's hopes for a "reset" relationship with Russia have proved complicated and in some cases discouraging.

Put yourself in Putin's position: with the GOP/Teatrolls hamstringing the administration on EVERYTHING for their own personal partisan political gain, why would you worry about anything?

Good observation- AND reading the trolls on-site bashing Obama IN FAVOR of Putin of late, I think we can see where the TEA Parties' hearts really lie!
"For more of our interview with Sen. John McCain, including which movie he thinks best depicts the recent 'bromance' between he and Obama, click on the video above."
Why? John isn't exactly shy about hogging the limelight. Come Sunday morning, he'll be shown here, there, and everywhere on America's talk circuit rodeo roundup circus.
Also, too.
Re: McCain and 1955. Again there's a joke there with the legislation the Right is pushing these days, but in all seriousness- the business with Snowden is only as big a deal as we make it. Putin is being foolish- but that seems to be the guy's MO. Snowden will find out how much fun it is to be a guest of Russia. Meanwhile we have lots to occupy our energies, and as long as we manage to keep the lines of communication open with Russia, we ought to be able to ride this out.
The 1955 comment is sort of funny, though..... Maybe the TEA Party can meet Putin there.
Only for people like McCain, who still is living in 1955.
He seems to be suffering from some mental disorder the last couple of months.
Good one Rick!!!
maybe the headline should read : Obama has reset relations with Russia back to 1955
I really do not worry about communists.
This from the guy who chose Mrs. "I can see Russia from my house" as his running mate.
so what do you want to do mccain ,bomb russia first or iran.1955 RIGHT
this here feller is some feller. Not like bob feller the pitcher for the indians. that feller was one helluva feller. this feller is a feller of another stripe all together! I rest ma case!
And your party has done the same thing for the American people. The republicans want to go back to 1955 so bad they can taste it. That's when Leave It To Beaver, Father Knows Best, Donna Reed were being aired weekly. It was all a sham, but they were being shown like all families were living the same life style. They weren't.
The topic caption looks to me like McCain resetting Russia Relations. But message seems Obama 'resetting' the relations. However, I figure the entire joke comes from the ugly mixture of behaviourial problems of Putin's cold war mentality, Repubs irrational/immoral muscle-flexing, Kerry's amoral posturings, McCain's lunatism, critics unguided comments. Obama is just the anchore man. If we go demo-crazy on this, we shall all have each person(s) black heart(s) in the concocted porridge.......not forgetting the media.
President George W. Bush once told the world that he had looked Vladimir Putin in the eye, gotten "a sense of his soul" and found the Russian leader to be "very straightforward and trustworthy."
When GW Bush looked into Putin's eyes and mistook him for his dog Barney .
How many years, and how many times can Putin be elected fearless leader ?
You can not expect to have good relations with another country if you demand things instead of talk to them about it. If the talks are cancelled there is no dialog and you get what you have not what you want.
