(CNN) - Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will host a fundraiser next month for longtime family friend and Democratic candidate for Virginia governor Terry McAuliffe, a source familiar with the event confirmed to CNN Friday.
The event is scheduled to be held at Clinton's home in Washington, said the source, who spoke anonymously since the fundraiser is considered a private event.
Former President Bill Clinton has headlined fundraisers for McAuliffe in his bid against Virginia’s Republican Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli. McAuliffe served as chairman of Bill Clinton's 1996 campaign for re-election, and as co-chairman of Hillary Clinton's 2008 bid for the Democratic presidential nomination. He was also the chairman of the Democratic National Committee from 2001-2005.
The Sept. 30 fundraiser will mark Clinton's first political event since stepping down as the nation’s top diplomat in February.
She’s appeared at events championing women and children, as well assumed a schedule of paid speaking engagements.
Politico first reported the fundraiser.
Don't know whether I should vote for the Libertarian candidate or just stay home on Election Day...
Maybe he will arrive in one of those cars the Chinese invested in to gain US citizenship . Maybe her brother can drive since he is arranging this citizenship deal through his company which has only this one client.
It is no wonder. McCauliffe is part of that inner circle who has ridden the coattails of the Clintons. I wonder if he will arrive in one of those cars from Mississippi. Who know the ones that Ms. Clinton,s brother has tried to arrange financing by the Chinease in exchange for citizenship and Mr. McCauliffe was company CEO until just a few months ago. The few cars that were made are still in a warehouse in Mississippi. They take them apart and reassemble them when the Press show up. This gives the appearance that they are being productive.
I see they sent in the clown.
Hello future Madam President!!
that's all about "returning the favor" is all . . . She needs the $$$$$$ if she decides to run . . . She's not going to "decide" till after she sees what happens it the mid-terms, period. If the Democrats gets another "shellacking" and ALL of congress goes to the Republicans, I doubt if she will run. Anybody in their right mind would not run, if the odds are stacked against you that much.
