President Obama golfs with Larry David

(CNN) - Wrapping up his vacation, President Barack Obama added a new name to his list of golf buddies: Larry David, star of "Curb Your Enthusiasm."

The president teed off with the "Seinfeld" co-creator Saturday at the Farm Neck Golf Club in Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts, on Martha's Vineyard.

They were joined by private equity investor Glenn Hutchins and former U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk.

David has a new movie out on HBO, "Clear History," which is set on Martha's Vineyard.

Obama is scheduled to depart the island off Cape Cod on Sunday to return to Washington.

I'd be happy if he stayed on the Vineyard...my vacation there was in July!

The world and the economy are a mess. Where are the critics shouting from the ramparts that Obama had better get back to work? Oh, its Obama, stupid. He gets a free pass from media criticism..

I actually had to read this link simply to see what they would put in an article whose headline is the whole story

As a Canadian, I can offer an independent observation:
Your economy is improving by the day,you have no war
being waged [except for a few pockets], you have so much to be thankful for.
let the O have a bit of time off..

@lex: "The world and the economy are a mess."

No, they aren't. not from an historic standpoint.

"Where are the critics shouting from the ramparts that Obama had better get back to work?"

They have more sense than to embarrass themselves. The president of the United States works at much as anyone in the world, seven days a week, 12-16 hours a day at one of the most stressful jobs in the world. No one can work every waking hour 365 days a year and be at his best. Everyone needs some time to refresh.

"Oh, its Obama, stupid. He gets a free pass from media criticism."

There is nothing to criticize here, dim wit. I'm so tired of listening to Rush Limbaugh's brainwashed bots whining about Obama playing golf once in a while. Most modern presidents have played golf and Obama's does not play an unusual amount. Eisenhower played golf just as much as Obama, and even had a putting green installed on the White House lawn. The difference was that back then Republicans had sense enough not to care.

So much blind hatred from the low-info, extremely low-intellect, racist right-wingers. 3 more years, losers, and then 8 more from Hillary, and then 8 more from the first Hispanic Democrat President! Change your whine to, "2032 can't come soon enough!!" LOL!

The media gives him a pass because it's their clients that watch TV. The rest of the population just works and watches educational programming like...Pawn Stars.

The world (and I think most people are referring to the Middle East and North Africa) is as every bit a mess as when Bush was in office. In fact I'd offer that it is in worse shape and getting worse by the day. The "good" part that the United States is not involved as much in "this world," and spending all that borrowed money and – most importantly – not losing lives and limbs of its citizens for an area that will never improve – at least in the next several generations. 2000 years in – 2000 years out.

As much as I wish Bush and others in the GOP had not taken such an aggressive approach in "the world" – I wish Obama would not take such an indifferent, lackadaisical "approach." Obama impresses me as the most hands-off, let-it-ride kinda leader the United States have every had in modern times.
So while "our world" has improved – the world that Bush thought he could improve is not any better.

When do I get MY vacation at Martha's Vineyard?
Oh That's right! It requires discretionary income and I don't have any of that.
    Oh well!

This man is just awful. He's milking the presidency to meet all his favorite celebrities while the country falls apart all around him.

I just checked on the number of days of vacation recent presidents have taken, something the journalist writing this article didn't provide for reader. The king of vacation days for presidents is W Bush with 349 in his 8 years in office. Clinton took 84 days and Reagan took 180. So unless Obama starts taking one week a month off until he is out of office he will drastically short of GOP baby Bush.
