(CNN) - In an announcement with little surprise, President Barack Obama officially endorsed Newark Mayor Cory Booker in the U.S. Senate special election in New Jersey.
The president praised the Democratic mayor for his work in public office in a statement released Wednesday by Booker's campaign.

Washington (CNN) - Democratic Rep. Chris Van Hollen of Maryland filed a lawsuit Wednesday against the Internal Revenue Service over the agency's criteria for tax-exempt social welfare groups.
The lawsuit seeks clarification over a discrepancy in the way federal law defines eligibility requirements for a 501(c)(4) group versus the way the IRS defines such groups.
The difference comes down to two words: 'exclusively' and 'primarily.'

New York (CNNMoney) - Millions of Americans won't have to pay full price for their Obamacare health insurance next year. But just how much they'll have to fork over depends on a couple different things.
Thanks to subsidies from the federal government, which will help pay for health insurance on state-based exchanges starting in 2014, many low- to moderate-income Americans will get a break on their premiums.
FULL STORYSen. Marco Rubio will meet with Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg at the tech giant’s headquarters on Wednesday, a source with knowledge of the meeting told CNN Tuesday night.
Rubio, in the San Francisco Bay Area for fundraising events, was invited by Zuckerberg to visit the Facebook campus, which is in Menlo Park, California.

(CNN) – A White House spokesman couldn't say Tuesday whether or not President Barack Obama's personal views on medical marijuana had changed after a column and documentary written by CNN Chief Medical Correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta detailing his own shift on the issue went viral.
Deputy Press Secretary Josh Earnest, asked if the White House had any official reaction to the column and if the president "has been personally looking at that issue," said he hadn't read it.
