Busy week of Syria discussions ahead
(CNN) - Labor Day begins a busy of week of discussions on whether the United States should use military force to punish the Syrian government for the reported use of chemical weapons in Syria's civil war.
Congress will not vote on President Barack Obama's request to authorize the use of force until sometime after it officially returns from recess September 9.
Here is what is expected this week:

bring the ships home ,republicans don,t care about american kids getting killed ,why should they care about kids any where else.
If I were a member of Congress I would get back to the hill and encourage the other members to return also. Give him the go ahead vote and put this ball back in his lap. Obama made this mess and he should clean it up. Maybe if he has to deal with his own mistakes he will be less likely to "miss speak" in the future.
When will our congress begin their week of discussions regarding the 80,000 Americans who die each year from alcohol related deaths? Oh thats right, to many are getting rich from the enormous profits, we can't take that away from them. Ok then, what about the discussions regarding the thousands and thousands of tobacco related deaths every year in America? Profits still too precious! So let's go spend millions to kill people to punish them for killing people! We sure are a confused society!
I am not for a US led action in Syria – UN Support is one thing and I am fine with: missle strikes/air superiority support, even trade embargos and other sanctions, but this request to ask Congress to intervene isnt right. We intervened in other countries, and look at where it got us. We dont need more war or involvement. "To repeat the same actions, expecting different results, is madness."
Thank you for warning Syria, now they can move artillery in civilian area, so if/when we strike we will be killing civilians. Wait long enough to decide and the UN will take over, is that the game plan, like in Bosnia.
Let me say first that I am a single mother with a 17 year old son, a Dessert Storm Veteran, a daughter of a Vietnam Veteran, an a friend of several people who would be holding the signs saying "Make love, not war". So I can understand where a lot of you are coming and respect that in America WE have the right to OUR opinions and the right to speak them. Second, I MUST say that it's not about taking sides or what the outcome will be or how much it will cost or who approves. It is about standing up for what WE THE PEOPLE believe in; that EVERY one has the right to LIFE, LIBERTY and THE PURSUIT of HAPPINESS. When something is WRONG, those who have the ability to do something about it, have a responsibility, a DUTY, to do so. I will never be the person who keeps walking when they hear screams for help coming from down the alley, or ignores a husband beating his wife or a parent tearing their child's flesh with a switch. Whats WRONG is WRONG and for ME, there's no justifying standing by and watching it happen.
Obama is making a big mistake ! There is no winning solution doing an air strike. Obama will make it tough to pass all these bills that are coming up next month.
I am confident that congressional republicans will side with Putin.

You don't think Russian intelligence hast already let the Syrians know our militaries current positions ?
There air and radar defense is not located in civilian arias . American and French air support would crush the Syrian air force in less then 24 hours. The only Mig aircraft they would have left would have defected to Iran , and they would need Iraq's permission .
The Nobel Peace Prize winner has spoken. Let's go to war, kinda! A shot across the bow won't do anything here. Obama has shown he doesn't have the spine, intelligence or competence to pull this off in the manner that will make a difference. If he goes in then Assad needs to be removed. All he is going accomplish is light a fuse for a much bigger conflict.
What a weak and foolish man. God help us all, including all the innocents that will die in Obamas political statement.
