Hillary Clinton weighs in: Syria weapons handover would be 'important step'

Washington (CNN) - Former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Monday it would be an "important step" if Syria immediately surrendered its chemical weapons stockpiles to international control.

"But this cannot be another excuse for delay or obstruction. And Russia has to support the international community's efforts sincerely or be held to account," she said.

  1. What a Shame

This is better than anything on Comedy Central. An impudent, incompetent and irrelevant Obama has just been undermined on the national stage by someone who he hired . You can’t make this stuff up. Never thought the day would come when Putin shows the rest of the world How to lead and resolve issues. The US is looking like a clown car. 3 more years? Really????

The right wingnuts who are afraid of cartoons, Hollywood, women, minorities, the poor, seniors, veterans and students, will not take kindly to her comments.

How dare she speak on any foreign affairs issue, when the Benghazi tragedy is about to have it's one year mark – with no one held accountable – especially her! She is a ruthless disgrace.

I think it was a video that caused Assad to use chemical weapons.

Hillary Clinton.... Secretary of State while the entire Middle East has set ablaze by her boss Obama. Allies lost and replaced with radical islamists. Countries crawling with AQ. Her own employees getting murdered because they were denied adequate security. Yup, quite accomplished... her and Obama have a lot in common. Failures, disaster and dead people whereever they go.

    @ DMFO and Rudy NYC
    Remember that, folks?
    -----------------
Oh we remember MUCH more than that Rudy... Invitations to watch games at the WH unanswered and unattended. Governors fleeing to the other side of their state when the POTUS came to visit. Governors putting their fingers in the POTUS face for the cameras to film and capture. High-ranking Rethugs telling the President they were too busy to attend meetings. Rethugs leaving for vacation and not answering the call to come back and hammer out the problems of the nation.....
    Oh we remember.
Hell, that's ALL we remember because that's ALL they've done for 5 plus years.

And the president is responsible for any of this? How about "elections have consequences" or "reward your friends and punish your enemies" or "they drove the car into the ditch. they should stay in the back seat". He is the president. He is supposed to lead. He faces opposition just like any president. Please remember that you had the Pelosi call Bush a liar (amongst several other democratic congressmen/congresswomen), Reid called him a loser and how many said he never really won the election against Gore? Come on, now. Have some perspective. Jeeez.

Ban all Vedic games???? Just bomb that Assad. But calculate pros and cons. Simple.
PS: if not it tantamounts removing Saddam Hussain which is a wrong step in destabilizing middle east.

Did not she already publicly support the strike, poor old lady..? And now, what...? Changed her mind already? She s got no clue in regard to politics or international affairs...But she has to show she s electable, guys. So she s trying her best to read the script they have written for her. The trouble is, her script-writers bungled it a bit, this time. The script changes all too often for her to seem consistent. Dont you worry, Hillary, you ll be elected next president of the USA, no matter what you say or do. There re too many Mexicans and Chinese in this country for you to fail.

Hillary seem to have forgotten that Russia is a bit different than Syria or Iraq... If I were her, I d fire the script-writers that make her look even more incompetent than she really is. Hold Russians accountable? Don't make me laugh, poor old girl. Russians have some five thousand nuclear warheads, all deliverable right to your doorstep. My advice to Hillary Clinton: Hire better script-writer, take your poodle for a walk and stay away from international politics.

So, I'm just curious, what exactly did happen in Benghazi? I still don't know. There were approximtely 30 people on the ground that the press hasn't interviewed yet. Why is that? Why was CNN able to get the ambassador's personal belongings days after the attack? How did the govt find out what happened in Syria in a matter of days yet it's been a year and we still don't know what really happened. I do know that for 2 weeks we were told it was a video. Why are you so reluctant to want to know the truth?

  18. truth hurts but reality bites

This is really now getting to be a three act farce. So the Russian Bear is going to gallop in to save the day for the world! Oi vay.... want to buy a bridge?!

Try this as a much more likely scenario. Thousands of Russian soldiers poor into Syria and maintain Assad's grip on power. They are housed near government installations and protect them. Think the USA is going to be able to do anything after that?

Obama is about to really get out flanked by the Russians and Assad. How dumb can he possibly be?!!

  19. Silence DoGood

You know every time a conspiracy-zombie utters Benghazi, another middle-of-the-road voter moves left in politics to inch away from the insanity. Go ahead – say it again. We have serious stuff going on. If Obama can turn into a War Hawk, what would a tea-bagger be capable of? You in the tin foil hat – say it one more time – it is like a vote for Hillary already.

Interesting that the crises in Syria has to take a back seat to Monday Night football. The game pushed Obama's news conference on Syria back to Tuesday rather then rile up the NFL fans by having it on Monday when Congress returned from their break.

Why so angry? I was asking you if you can tell me what happened in Benghazi. Your previous comment appears that you don't really care what happened there (and I suspect it's because there is a D behind the name of the president right now). I can only imagine your thought process had there been a repub in office when the Benghazi attack happened. So what did happen? Can you answer that question? Oh, and before you make the wrong assumption about me, you should know that I voted for Ron Paul. I think both parties are awful. You, on the other hand, are knee deep in the D vs. R battle and I think it's sad. Don't you realize that they don't care about you. And the proof that D's certainly don't care about the average citizen is their handling of Benghazi. And I honestly have no idea what you mean by my "clairvoyant knowledge". What does that even mean?
