Economists to Obama: Pick Yellen for Fed chair
New York (CNNMoney) - More than 300 economists have signed a letter urging President Obama to nominate Janet Yellen as the next Federal Reserve chair.
"Dr. Yellen is superbly qualified," the letter says.

Great, a naked appeal to gender-identity. However, the reason this is even an issue is because Summers is a chauvinist - as such, Obama should probably pick Yellin.
Fact is, though, the two contenders don't seem to be all that different in their economic philosophy, so we're only talking optics here, not actual policy changes at the Fed.
Yellen has two major strikes against her passing the nomination process. One, she's a woman, and sure to fall victim to the right wing's war against women. Two, she'd be Obama's pick, and sure to fall victim to the right wing's obstructionism.

I wouldn't. Well, to be clear ... not because I am a woman (would I be upset or think of it as an insult). That being said, I have no dog in this show.
