Washington (CNN) - Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said she would be "disappointed" in the American electorate if Hillary Clinton becomes a serious candidate for president in 2016.
The 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee argued Clinton would not be right for the role as commander in chief after four Americans, including the U.S. ambassador to Libya, died last year in a terrorist attack against a U.S. consulate in Benghazi.

"If (Benghazi) doesn't have an impact on the 2016 presidential election, if she is a candidate, then America, I am very disappointed in our electorate," Palin said Sunday on Fox News, where she's a contributor.
She said "anyone who would just throw away 200 years of military ethos and leave our men behind to be murdered" should "never be considered as a commander in chief."
The lack of security at the consulate and the September 11, 2012 attack are poised to be a major point of contention by Republicans if Clinton decides to run for president. Clinton ultimately took responsibility for diplomats' safety, and was grilled before two congressional committees in January.
At one point she lost her temper while responding to questions from Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wisconsin. He was asking her about the erroneous, initial talking points that claimed the attack stemmed from a spontaneous protest against an anti-Islam video, though the administration later defined it as a terrorist attack and said a protest never happened.
"What difference at this point does it make?" Clinton responded. "It is our job to figure out what happened and do everything we can to prevent it from ever happening again, senator."
The attack on Benghazi is still a matter of congressional investigation by House Republicans.
"That's why I'm so grateful for Congress to be pursuing what happened in Benghazi," Palin said. "Because at this point, it still makes a difference what happens in Benghazi."
"Anyone who doesn't understand that and dismisses it as being indifferent, they should not be our commander in chief," she continued.
For her part, Clinton said in a recent interview with New York Magazine that she is in no hurry to decide about a potential 2016 bid for the White House, saying it is a decision "not to be made lightly."
Asked how she plans to combat any conflicts she may face related to her political legacy, she said the best course is to "find common ground."
"I have a lot of reason to believe, as we saw in the 2012 election, most Americans don't agree with the extremists on any side of an issue," Clinton said in the interview. "But there needs to continue to be an effort to find common ground, or even take it to higher ground on behalf of the future."
Palin's comments mark a stark contrast to high praise Clinton received Sunday from House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, who said if Clinton decides to run, "she will win."
"And when she becomes president, she'll be one of the best-equipped, best-prepared people to enter the White House in a very long time," Pelosi said on CNN's "State of the Union."
Noting Clinton's experience as secretary of state, as a U.S. senator from New York and as a first lady, Pelosi said Clinton would be "more prepared than President Obama; certainly more prepared than President Bush; certainly more prepared than President Clinton I might admit."
Reading a lot of comments saying it's the pot calling the kettle black. But it isn't the case. Mres. Clinto has proven she has the intelligence , stamina, and experience to hold high office, even if you don't necessarily agree with her on issues. Mrs. Palin has proven herself to be a corrupt, incompetent, cowardly media whore. It's more like a greasy, cracked pot calling a fine crystal goblet black.
"Ron
Hillary..LOL.. About the only person WORSE than Hillary would be Pelosi.. Hillary does not have the intelect, nor the integrity for the Job of president.. if she runs, she will be laughed off the stage."
This statement in and of it's self was at least as dumb as Palin's comments, maybe even more so. Hillary has proven herslef to be one of the most intelligent persons on the face of the earth.
She put herslf through school, including Harvard. She was presisent of her class in college and she gave a speech at the graduation commensement that she re-wrote/impervised on the spot because the Republican Congressman who spoke before her upset her so much. BTW- that speech was so good that she was on the cover of Time magazine because of it; yes prior to her going to law school.
She was a very highly respected lawyer before becoming first lady and was one of the hghest rated first ladies. She has also been rated as the single most respected woman in the world for several straight years.
We would be lucky to have Hillary as out president and foosl like Palin should show at least a resembelance of hope for an improved America and just simply stop making stupid comments.
Ms Palin. Remember G Bush who got elected after getting thousands of Americans killed in iraq. WMD. I believe he belonged to YOUR PARTY. BTW. We don't REALLY care what you think.
Typical Palin – telling her loyal fans (the dumbest 20% of the population and the people that need them to win elections) that a person with 1000 time more intelligence and experience is not qualified to do what she thinks she can do with her eyes blindfolded.
It was disappointing enough that Palin was ever considered a serious VP candidate, as she quit during her only term as governor rather than face multiple ethics charges, and has managed to be paid quite well to continue spouting her "aw shucks' brand of moronic politicism. A thumbs down from her in regards to Hillary's potential 2016 run can only be considered a boost to her chances.
As far as Benghazi is concerned, the GOP needs to stop beating a long-dead horse, and worry more about putting up a presidential candidate who won't be laughed at and ridiculed as much as Romney was last year, and so far, none of their potential candidates qualify...
Never have I heard a more compelling reason for a Hillary Clinton presidency as hearing that Sarah Palin disapproves.
Palin is far more qualified than Obama or Clinton. But the Palin haters simply cannot let her go, can they? From confusing Tina Fey with Sarah Palin, to the BS about her "quitting" (she was forced out by dozens of fraudulent lawsuits that were all dismissed), to the fake Alaskans always telling us how unpopular she is (she was one of the highest rated governors in American history), to the outright mockery about her "lies" and how "dumb" she is... the American Left is obviously afraid of her. They simply will not let her go, and use every opportunity to harass her and make sure all of us know every little bit of their anti-Palin propaganda. Palin Derrangement Syndrome is alive and well – and that's EXACTLY why I want to vote for her; to shove it in these people's faces.
My God Sarah Palin is daft. Actually, that's an insult to daft people. Ms. Palin is beyond help. The best thing to do for her ego (and yes, this is what she's all about these days), is to turn off the cameras and recorders when she gets up to speak. The alternative is to have people keep laughing and shaking their heads at the things she says – and that's sad when you think about it.
Thanks for the input, Ms Palin. Now shouldn't you be off chasing basketball players?
'Dieter621 – The Muslim Brotherhood was code named the Arab Spring'
How quickly the conservatives forget that when Arab Spring kicked off they were all praising Bush to the heavens and claiming it was exactly as he predicted would happen in invading Iraq, that it would encourage the spread of democracy in the Middle East. They were claiming it as their own.......until things started to go wrong, and suddenly it became Obama and Clinton's fault.
Why would we want to promote a failed Secretary of State to the office of President?
Raise your hand if you think Sarah Palin even knew what/where Beghazi was before this story first unfolded? "Is that a type of tiger? I think I shot one of those once..."
Indeed Libs love to hate on Sarah....especially when she's correct!
The quitter from Wasilla chimes in again. The Republicans must be so proud of this underachiever!
Thanks Palin, you just made Hillary as shoe-in for 2016!!!
Regardless of whether or not you believe Hillary is suited or ill-suited for the presidency the real cringe worthy moment is thinking about Sarah Palin as Secretary of State.
What 200 years of military ethos is she on about? The Alamo or Bataan?
No fan of Clinton, but Sarah needs to just go away!
Why is everything she says or does, or for that matter any other rightwing radical only broadcasted on FOX? The answer: No one else gives a crap!
Palin of ALL people to make such comments. Oh great if she's elected we ALL could see Russia from her home in Alaska.
Let's see: Screw-ups by St. Hillary; Russian ‘re-set’, Egypt, Libya, Syria & Iran (2009 internal student revolt)!
Now, the foolish, ignorant and/or plain stupid AmeriKAN electorate wants to give her a chance to complete the destruction of this nation: for which of her aforementioned accomplishments does she deserve to be 'president'?
Benghazi?? Where 5 or 6 brave American got killed? What about Iraq??? 5000+ got killed in the false war mad on LIES..
Benghazi, what is so wrong there? We lost 5000+ in Iraq..Where was the outrage then?
Palin is full of it, and all her supporters too.
Ummm...Palin is the last person on earth who should have the right to say anyone is fit or unfit for President. Especially since she can see Russia from her backyard...lol!
There have been other agencies hit by terrorists before Obama and there will probably be more in the future. Why wasn't Bush or Condoleeza blamed for all deaths that occurred during those 8 years, including 9/11? Oh yeah. That's right. They blamed that too on the Democrats. Benghazi occurred; four people were killed; there was confusion as to who did it, then there wasn't. End of story. Yet this is the bone the GOP won't let go of, mainly because they are afraid Hillary WILL run in 2016. As for Sarah Palin, who even listens to anything that fool says? Perhaps she should tell us the REAL reason for her sudden departure from the governorship and what she avoided by resigning.
Palin is right! of course the liberals will only attack with what they do best...making fun. Clinton lacks character, morals.... she was a failure as 1st lady and the healthcare debacle, a senator that did nothing and just was present...same as secretary of State (a favor from Obama)....Benghazi is a disaster....and demonstrates she is a liar
