Cruz says he'll talk until 'I am no longer able to stand'
Washington (CNN) - Texas GOP Sen. Ted Cruz took to the Senate floor on Tuesday afternoon for remarks on the shutdown debate that could potentially last through the night - a dramatic step in defense of his high profile, controversial plan to prevent any funding for Obamacare.
"I intend to speak until I am no longer able to stand," he said.

Well, I can no longer stand him. So I guess this stunt will make us even.
What a jerk! Enough of the political grandstanding. I wish sometimes our Congress was like those in other governments when they actually come to blows because Cruz would be the first one to get socked in his face.
You can also hold your breath until you turn blue in the face. The result will be the same.
Let's see who has most endurance: Ted Cruz; Rand Paul; or Wendy Davis? Remember, Davis didn't have any prep time.
And within his first sentence, he'll have talked until the rest of us can't stand it.

And then what, yell and scream about tyranny when someone says the time limit set by the rules is up? THIS IS NOT A FILIBUSTER. Filibusters are not allowed during this part of the process. He's doing it now instead of a real filibuster for precisely that reason...so he doesn't have to actually filibuster but can pretend that he did. It's a FAUXLIBUSTER (credit to a friend who just came out with that word). It's nothing but grandstanding with no real procedural purpose or weight.
Republicans are worried about their 'brand.' They already have the reputation of the Ford Pinto catching on fire, and the Chevy truck exploding saddlebag tanks. They will always be referred to as 'domestic terrorists.'
Go away and let us have health care.

I say adjourn the house until the democrats pass the bill that was sent to them. the house speaks for the people and the people do not want obamacare. i'd rather see a government that does not represent the will of the people shut down rather than allow it to continue to jam this bs down our throats. it is time that the people draw a red line and not back down.

The nome de plume " President Darky" is indicative of where the mindet of some on teh right is sitting. Also, if the Right were real freethinkers, they would be atheists, and since many still have difficulty dealing with the Scientific Method and Evolution, I would say that your comments are of as much intellectual value as, say, just sayin or gunderson. Living in a bubble of race-driven thought is never pretty. As far as Ted Cruz is concerned, this is his Mr. Smith moment, but its the moneyed interests, the insurance companies and people like the Koch Brothers who would benefot from this. The people that want to keep you enlaved on the corporate plantation are the ones who are talking about freedom in one breath, and screwing you like they ahve for decades in the next breath. Its Frank Capra in reverse with Cruz.
Clock started lets see if he can follow through on what he said. "I will talk until I can no longer stand" I am willing to bet that he will not only stop talking before he collapses 'unable to stand', but that he will not even make it as long as Rand Paul did on drones.
It'd be better to watch a rerun of Jerry Seinfield......truly a show about nothing!

Tom, Sniffit has been posting on here for a number of years, as have I. When I started to read the ticker, I was stunned by the number of racist posts on the ticker and in accompanying articles. They were vile attacks directed at the preseident, his wife, and any number of other people of color, If Sniffit makes references to race, its because we have seen a lot of horrible, vile things said about our president for the sole reason that he is black. My wife recently had to discipline a person who worked with her who kept referring to the President as " the monkeyman". Sniffit is entitled to rant, just as all of us are, and as long as there are thoughtless fools on the Right wing fringe that call anyone of color a monkey, or any number of things, we will call him on it. Snifitt has obviously struck a nerve with you, since you confront him over it daily. Why do you feel the need to confront him? I don't regard you as a racist, but you never call out members of your side for obviously ignorant comments. I wish you would do that.
