The fault belongs to everyone! The republicans want this and the democrats want that and Mr President says if you two don't come together there will be issues, but you better give me what I want or I'll Veto it!!
It's not right!!!!! We are being punished because everyone wants something the other isn't willing to give!
If this shut down happens then every bill I can't pay will be getting the congressman or senators or the White House phone numbers, THEY get to explain why I can't pay my bill!!!
We don't need a Communist Dictator shoving his Government down our throats. Obama is a Communist no doubt about it, but he is not yet a Dictator to the American People. Why is he shoving Obamacare at us while he exempts himself, the Congress and their staff, the Unions, and big business from being under it. Dick Durbin the ranking Illinois Senator got on the Senate Floor and bragged about his Federal Health Insurance yet didn't like it when Sen. Cruz was talking about Obamacare being forced on all of us working American People. How can Obamacare be so good when the architect Sen. Max Baucus called it a "TRAINWRECK". We the American People don't want this CRAP–period!
Military? Really? Oil Wealth protectorate dont you mean, Bill? Last american war it should have been involved in: WWII. Nothing since then hasn't been about egos and special interest money. The last several gens may have put their lives on the line but they did so for oil. Not the country and MOST chose it to get a pension at 40 and benefits out the wazoo as well as second career wealth, often double dipping.
The next time a real war comes up ALL our kids will get called up not just you college benefitters.
If Social Security payments are not met, I know PRECISELY who to blame, and it isn't the President nor the Democrats
This is the last time Republicans will control anything. A dying party, dying voters, dying votes in congress. If this shutdown happens, guaranteed they don't control the house come election time, and this is the last time they control a thing other than maybe Texas.
Not sure why Nancy Pelosi tweets #GOPShutdown when it's the Democratic-controlled Senate that rejected the spending bill.
I don't want the government to shutdown either, but she is out of line calling it a GOP Shutdown when her party is the one who rejected the bill.
Why do we keep voting these lazy non productive leaders into office? Wake up America!!!
Republicans are a bunch of scarety cats who are letting whiney Reid walk all over them.
Uhmmmm... can this POTUS legitimately call anyone anywhere on being irresponsible?!?!?! Pots'n'kettles. Glass houses. Sheeeesssshhhh... what a goofball. This would-be emperor is wearing no clothes. Interesting... in that he is such an empty suit.
We're doomed.
Here we go again, pointing fingers, name calling, and anything but coming to a compromise. The House was in session late into Saturday night, and the Senate would not even come in until this afternoon to look at the proposals, yet they point fingers at the Republicans.

While you pretend to not favor one side over the other, you are in your glee when pitting one side against the other. As an adult, I find this totally unacceptable

Which is why you can say goodnight but you can't say good-bye my friend.
We have to keep the tom l's in check and in balance lest the rest of the civilized and educated world think that our country is comprised primarily of types like him and the convoluted, edited version of reality that they try to pass off as facts.
And you won't say it my friend but I will, it is no secret that the undercover Teatards (yes, that's what I call them) that post on this site have an intellect better suited for the lower echelons of organized crime than for forging lasting, productive, civilized liasons with humanity at large.
So stay you must. We are here to balance the scales, nay, to tip them in our favor.
And I thank you for your kind support.
If the gov.shuts down does congress get paid cuz they shouldnt...is time to think about term limit
Yep, shut it down, will all be better off. I'll tell that to my daughter, Active Duty Air Force Officer who will be paid with an IOU, and her defense contractor husband is furloughed. Do you think the mortgage company or grocery store will take an IOU? Shutting down the government to mshowcase your bullyness is STOOPID!
Ok so I see all the Dems are happy being sheep within their party. The Republicans are doing what they were voted into office to do. That being vote the way their base wants them to vote. They were voted into office to be the voice of the people and that is what they are doing.
What's wrong Obama, Pelosi, Reid – does big the mean House want to make you spend a little more responsibly? Its about time. So nice of you to try to pin this on the House, when it is your party that name calls, doesn't negotiate and then puts dufus Pelosi out there saying Republicans are hurting pregnant women and kids.

Your "logic" fails given that de-funding the ACA will raise the debt and deficit. Silly person, the GOP doesn't care about fiscal repsonsibility!Meanwhile- what party keeps threatening government shutdowns? Why, that's the GOP! See how simple that is?
America,
Wake up! When people cannot get along in the workplace, they get fired!
Fire this Congress!
Despite what our President may wish, one faction of one part of governement can shut down legislation and consequently the continued running of the government. It may or may not be smart, but it is within the rules. What this President needs stop doing is trying to lead from above and get involved and make compromises. It is unfortunately why such a smart man has been so ineffective as President. Now is not the time to be so aloof. Be a leader! That is what those who voted for him expected.
@speakerBoehner How far will you go? Too FAR! What you are doing looks like terrorism (see definition: ter·ror·ism noun 1. the use of violence and intimidation in the pursuit of political aims.) Do your job and fund the government for bills already incurred. You want to change the ACA, pass a bill that will get the support the Senate and the President. If you can't, then negotiate a deal on the issue. Either way, DO YOUR JOB! SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE, not speaker of the house republicans.

The tea partiers are either insane or evil.
_____________
technically, they are both.
what happened last time the GOP let the gov shut down under Regan? Oh yea, they won the house.
rosethorne - don't forget Food Stamps & Welfare
"Obama is a Communist no doubt about it"
LOL. Just....LOL. I'd bet my left ear that you can't define communism and then put together a coherent argument as to why the definition fits.
The big sticking point for both sides is the Obamacare area if I am correct. If Obamacare is suppose to be the national health care system for all, why did the legislative and executive branch decide they do not have to fall under this program. Not only that, but their staff members are exempted from it also.
That is because they know that it sucks for middle class and above.
If it is the national health care system then all citizens should be included in it. Come on politicians, put your health where your mouth is.
Everyone is to blame on this. The President himself has said he won't negotiate (great way to lead Mr. Prez), the Democrats won't negotiate, and the Republicans won't negotiate. That's been the one consistent trait that our current President's time in office has had. "My way or the highway". I hope whomever our next president is, Dem or GOP, that he/she is a better leader than what we've had for the last 6 years.
