The prez came on TV (interrupting my judge show) claiming that the health care act will proceed, regardless. The actions under consideration FUND CONTINUED GOVERNMENT except for the health care act. If it is inevitable, accept the funding initiatives proposed that will continue to fund the government (duh).

I don't understand why the news can't tell the truth about the Republicans and the Affordable Care Act. Wanting to kill or delay the Affordable Care Act has nothing to do with the American people, or whether it's ready to be implemented! Six years ago during the 1st Obama swearing in, I blieve it was Mitch McConall , saying that the Republican party's number one priority was to see that Obama had a failed presidency. If the Affordable Care Act is implimented it means they have failed in this mission. Plain and simple!!!!

"Loks and smells like taxation without representation to me!"

Better get your eyes and olfactories checked. Obamacare was written by duly elected by the people's duly elected representatives, and signed into law by a duly elected Chief Executive.

Sorry that YOU didn't like the results; better luck next time!

    @ Ed
Is there a red line for this too? Republicans should stand tall and wait for him to give in. Russia and Syria cracked him with little effort.

Really Ed? Are you serious? Where have you been, Obama got Syria to get rid of the chemical weapons. I know you and the Repubs would rather go into Syria and start killing innocent people and spending more money we dont have like the Bush years, but come on it gets old. I thought Repubs wanted to cut the debt not add to it. GOP hypocrites I tell ya!!

There are going to be a great many unhappy campers once Obamacare is fully implemented and works better than anticipated. One hopes that this will finally wake Republican Americans up to just how devious their elected officials are in shutting down the government in attempt to stop that which is really what Americans wanted all along. The gnashing of teeth will be heard coast to coast. And rightly so.

Why should Congress care if the Government shuts down or not. They get their paychecks either way. What's the point of a shutdown if Obamacare is going to gte passed anyway?

I wonder how and why thousands of National Guardsman who are wearing military uniforms everyday to work, known as dual status technicians, or federal employees, who are working beside, with, and at times are supervising Active Guard Reserve Soldiers in uniform, seem to be left out when being considered to continue operations. Yes they are required to wear the army uniform to work daily and be an active member of that guard state to have a job. The only difference is where or how they are paid. They do the same job and follow the same Army Regulations daily. This action leaves each state dangerously short of personnel and severely degrades operations. It's a shameful oversight for many hard working SOLDIERS. I hope it all works out for them...

Because these people WANT health insurance? Nobody is denied healtcare now – why is it necessary to wreck the entire system we have with one that has proven not to work (see Canada, see Great Britain) and I don't care what these people want – let them get out and work for it like everyone else. Who will pay for all of this?? The taxpayers (the few of us who are left) that's who. I am so disgusted with this group of people with their endless demands and entitlement mentality.

"when they are merely wanting to DELAY it"

No and no. It has already been delayed once, and no they don't want to delay it. They want to use it in hopes of repeating 2010 election results. That is not going to happen either. The delay is over and it will go into effect in a few short hours. One assumes that Republicans are deathly afraid it will work, people will be happy with the results, and 2014 will not be a good voting year for the GOP. Why else shut down the United States government over a program not yet yielding results pro or con? Think of the bargaining leverage should Obamacare NOT work out in the years to come and the golden opportunity the GOP is passing up over their stubborn behavior of shutting it down NOW, TODAY at all costs.

Republicans have clearly shown that unless their terms are met, everyone else will pay for it. How is this any different from monarchy aside from it being a group of people? Democrats aren't blameless either, but this little game of tug-of-war has got to stop.
