Wild car chase ends with suspect shot to death near U.S. Capitol

,

Washington (CNN) - She had a 1-year-old child inside and apparently was unarmed.

Instead, the motorist's black Infiniti, according to authorities, itself became a weapon Thursday afternoon, first striking a security barrier and U.S. Secret Service officer near the White House before hurtling down some of the capital's most famous streets, police cruisers in pursuit.

Dramatic video taken minutes later near the U.S. Capitol showed the vehicle backing into a police vehicle before the chase resumed. Gunshots rang through the traffic circle. The motorist was shot by police just a few blocks away.

What do people expect? Americans are angry about this shutdown. Doesn't surprise me in the least.

Hopefully this is the wakeup call Congress needs to END THIS NOW!

Maybe time to think seriously about gun control now, you buncha dolts. Also, maybe time to stop living with the blinders on and see what you're doing to the people you supposedly represent – What you're doing to us is criminal, Mr. Speaker. I don't blame the shooter for acting out AT ALL.

Did the shooter not know Capital Hill was a gun free zone? I knew they should of put bigger signs up so this kind of thing didn't happen.

I wish no one harm......but I am taking a certain amount of enjoyment envisioning Congress shaking in their booties.

Congress is not working anyway (but still getting paid by us taxpayers). We should have the leaders "shelter in place" and replace them with people with common sense (all of them are crooks – Democrats, Republicans, Independents...all crooks)!!

Oh boy, this is when all the crazies come out. I give 50% odds that there were no shots at all and this is just sensationalist media
    ---------------------------------------
Sure, people are just seeing sheltering and running because the "gubermint" told them too not because they heard shots fired.

Who is the small child being placed in the back of a police car?

Lockdown lifted, there was a car chase that ended with shots fired by security personnel after the suspect in question tried to ram a security barrier on Pennsylvania Ave before driving to the Capitol building.

Move on, nothing to see here relating to some mass shooter who snapped because of the government shutdown.

Americans are idiots. Just read these comments.

We elect the politicians, and believe me, ALL the politicians are a hell of a lot more intelligent than any of these bloggers.

Americans love to blame. The more ignorant an American is, the more likely he'll blame government for his own failure.

    Fools.

Thanks Tea Party for pushing our nation to the point where someone felt it was time for a 2nd Amendment solution to the shutdown.

All joking aside, a shooting is never good, no matter the cause. As for DC a gun free zone... it's not the legal, law abiding citizen's that are a danger to the community. If someone is out to do harm, they are not looking to do it legally. That's what I don't get about people who side with a gun ban.

I think people are plan and simply tired of the chaos the leaders of this country are causing. Seriously, if you can't do your job, step down and let someone in there who will work endlessly until an agreement is reached.

Congress locked down during the shut down. Yes, this will help speed up the process of getting this country moving again.

NRA is going to say the solution is more armed congressmen, and allow people to carry guns into the Capitol. Just like they did about schools.
